A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the door 825.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the FWD cargo-compartment door 825 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
   (2) Make sure that the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU is at ON.
   (3) Make sure that in the FWD cargo-compartment, the panels:
     (a) FOR [142DU] (HEATER-TAPE, WASTE WTR)
131GW
     (b) FOR [146DU] (HEATER-TAPE,)
131GW 131HW
     (c) FOR [147DU] (HEATER-TAPE,)
131HW 131MW are removed.

4. Procedure
Subtask 30-71-53-420-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Heater Element
   (1) Preparation for installation:
     (a) Clean the waste water line with Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Do a visual inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
   (3) Put the heater element (5) in position on the waste water line (12).
   (4) Wind the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) (6) on the heater element (5) and on the waste water line (12).
NOTE: Make sure that the heater element (5) is correctly installed on the waste water line (12).
   (5) Safety both ends of the Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) with the heat-shrink sleeve.
   (6) Connect the three wires of the heater element (5) to the terminal strip.
NOTE: Connect the electrical wires as identified during the removal procedure.
   (7) If removed, install the related temperature sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 30-71-17-400-003).
   (8) Install the insulation sleeve (8) carefully on the waste water line (12).
NOTE: Make sure that the electrical connections do not touch the insulation sleeve (8).
   (9) Put Epoxy Adhesive-- - Legacy 3 (Material No.05EML7) (7) on the longitudinal cut of the insulation sleeve (8).
   (10) Install the insulation muffs (4), the adhesive tape (9) and safety it with the velcro tape (3).
   (11) Install the spacers (10) and the clamps (11).
   (12) Attach the identification and warning labels (1) with the cable ties (2).
NOTE: Do not damage the insulation sleeve (8) with the cable ties.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Do an operational test of the waste water ice-protection (Ref. AMM TASK 30-71-00-710-002).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) In the FWD cargo-compartment, install the panel(s):
     (a) FOR [142DU] (HEATER-TAPE, WASTE WTR)

     (b) FOR [146DU] (HEATER-TAPE,)
131GW 131HW
     (c) FOR [147DU] (HEATER-TAPE,)

   (3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to OFF.
   (4) Close the FWD cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).

B. De-energize the ground service network
