C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the FWD cargo-compartment door 825.
(2) Open the FWD cargo-compartment door 825 (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Set the CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to ON.
(4) In the FWD cargo compartment, remove the access panel(s):
(a) FOR [48DU] (HEATER)
131GW 131HW
(b) FOR [49DU] (HEATER)
131HW 131EG 131DG 131CG
(c) FOR [142DU] (HEATER-TAPE, WASTE WTR)
131GW.

4. Procedure
Subtask 30-71-53-020-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Heater Elements
(1) Remove and discard the cable ties of the identification and warning labels.
(2) Remove the clamps (1) and the spacers (2).
(3) Remove the velcro tape (3), the adhesive tape and the insulation muffs (4).
(4) Carefully remove and discard the adhesive tape (9) which is on the longitudinal cut of the insulation sleeve (10).
(5) Remove the insulation sleeve (10) that insulates the waste water line.
(6) Disconnect the three wires (5) of the heater elements (7) from the terminal strip.

NOTE: Identify all the electrical wires before you disconnect them.

(7) If necessary, remove the waste-water de-icing sensor (141DU) (Ref. AMM TASK 30-71-17-000-002).
(8) Remove and discard the heat-shrink sleeve (8) and the glass fiber tape (6) that attaches the heater element (7) to the waste water line.

NOTE: Do not damage the waste water line when you remove the heat-shrink sleeve.

(9) Remove the heater element (7).
