C. Preparation for Installation
(1) Remove the used sealant with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC from the fuselage.
(2) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that no signs of paint, corrosion or sealant are visible on the screw holes of the drain mast.
Subtask 30-71-51-140-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the used sealant with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC from the fuselage.
(2) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .

(4) Make sure that no signs of paint, corrosion or sealant are visible on the screw holes of the drain mast.
NOTE: The electrical bonding of the drain mast is applied by the installation of conductive attachment screws.

(a) Do a visual inspection of the shim (9) to make sure that there is no damage.
(b) If damaged, remove the shim (9) from the drain mast (1) and discard it.
(c) Remove the screws (10).
(d) Carefully remove the heater tube assembly (8) from the drain mast (1).
(e) Remove and discard the seals (11).
(f) Make sure that the nut clips (12) are kept in the drain mast (1).
(2) Assembly of the Drain Mast:
(a) Put the new AIPC 30-71-51-05-050 SEALS (11) in its installation position.
(b) Carefully insert the heater tube assembly (8) into the drain mast (1).
(c) Safety the heater tube assembly with the screws (10).
(d) Install the AIPC 30-71-51-05-020 SHIM (9):
2 Apply Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) to the surface of the shim (9) and the related surfaces of the drain mast (1).
3 Put the shim (9) on the related surface of the drain mast (1). Apply pressure on the shim (9) for one minute to cure the adhesive bond.
4 Let the adhesive dry for a minimum of three hours.

Drain Mast - Heater Tube Assembly ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Drain Mast - Heater Tube Assembly ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (a) Do a visual inspection of the shim (9) to make sure that there is no damage.
(b) If damaged, remove the shim (9) from the drain mast (1) and discard it.
(c) Remove the screws (10).

(1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(2) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)

(3) Put the drain mast (1) in position on the opening of the fuselage.
(5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(7) Connect the extensible bellow (5) to the drain mast pipe (6).
(8) Slowly and carefully pull the extensible bellow (5) above the drain mast pipe (6).
(9) Install the clamp (4) on the extensible bellow (5).
(10) Make sure that the screw of the clamp (4) is in its correct installation position between:
(12) Hang the drain mast (1).
(13) Do a leak test as follows:
(a) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the drain mast (1) to collect the water.
(b) Put the PLUG - BLANKING on the outlet of the drain mast (1).
(c) In the cabin, remove the washbasin plug from the related washbasin drain hole and stow it.
(d) Fill the related washbasin that is connected to the applicable drain mast unit with half liter of water.
(e) Do a visual leak check of:
(g) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the outlet of the drain mast (1).
(h) Remove the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL).
(14) Install the drain mast as follows:
(a) Carefully put the drain mast (1) in position on the opening of the aircraft structure.
(b) Install the screws (2) on the drain mast (1).
(c) Tighten the screws (2).
(d) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(e) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the interfaces of the drain mast (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-11-300-001).
(f) Make sure that the shape of the full sealant around the drain mast (1) is smooth.
(g) Let the sealant cure.
(i) FOR [4DU] (DRAINMAST "F"), [14DU] (DRAINMAST "F")
Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) to the heads of the screws.
(j) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the drain mast (1) and the heads of the screws.
Subtask 30-71-51-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.

(4) Connect the electrical connector (3) to the holder (7). (5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE BELLOWS FROM /TO THE DRAIN MAST PIPE.
IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BELLOWS YOU MUST REPLACE IT. TO REPLACE THE BELLOWS IT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE CARGO FLOOR PANELS FOR ACCESS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE TOOLS TO REMOVE/INSTALL THE BELLOWS FROM/TO THE DRAIN MAST PIPE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DRAIN MAST PIPE VERY EASILY. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DRAIN MAST PIPE, YOU MUST INSTALL A NEW DRAIN MAST.
(6) Align the drain mast pipe (6) with the extensible bellow (5). (7) Connect the extensible bellow (5) to the drain mast pipe (6).
(8) Slowly and carefully pull the extensible bellow (5) above the drain mast pipe (6).
(9) Install the clamp (4) on the extensible bellow (5).
(10) Make sure that the screw of the clamp (4) is in its correct installation position between:
- The drain mast pipe (6) and the holder (7).
(12) Hang the drain mast (1).
(13) Do a leak test as follows:
(a) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the drain mast (1) to collect the water.

(j) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the drain mast (1) and the heads of the screws.
NOTE: After you apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) , it is recommended that you wait for approximately 3 hours before you apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) . The curing time is shorter when the ambient temperature is higher and longer when the temperature is lower.
B. Installation of the Drain Mast
(1) Prepare the surface of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-803).
(2) Install the drain mast (1) with the screws (2).
(3) Tighten the screws (2).
(4) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(5) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(8) Put the insulation on the pipe end (3).
(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(11) Attach the electrical wires with the TIE WRAP(S) to the bracket.
(12) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the interfaces of the drain mast (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-11-300-001).
(13) Make sure that the shape of the full sealant around the drain mast (1) is smooth.
(14) Let the sealant cure.
(16) FOR [4DU] (DRAINMAST "F"), [14DU] (DRAINMAST "F"), [24DU]
Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) to the heads of the screws.
(17) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the drain mast and the heads of the screws.

(9) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.

MAKE SURE THAT ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN WHEN YOU CONNECT THEM. THE CONTAMINATION OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(10) Connect the electrical connector (6). (11) Attach the electrical wires with the TIE WRAP(S) to the bracket.

(13) Make sure that the shape of the full sealant around the drain mast (1) is smooth.

(c) Remove the washbasin plug from the washbasin drain hole and stow it.

(a) Install floor panel 131EF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-14-400-001).
(b) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 6LU to OFF.
(c) Remove the access platform(s).
(d) Close the forward cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
(3) FOR [14DU] (DRAINMAST "F")
(a) Install partition 162DW (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-12-400-001).
(b) Set CARGO COMPT LIGHT switch 8LU to OFF.
(c) Remove the access platform(s).
(d) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-004).
A. Close Access
(1) FOR [4DU] (DRAINMAST "F"), [14DU] (DRAINMAST "F")
(a) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(b) Pressurize the Potable Water System (Ref. AMM TASK 38-10-00-614-001).
(c) Remove the wash basin plug from the wash basin drain hole and stow.
(2) FOR [4DU] (DRAINMAST "F")
(a) Install the floor panel 131CG in the FWD cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-22-14-400-001).
(b) Set the CARGO COMPT LT switch 6LU to OFF.
(c) Close the FWD cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(3) FOR [14DU] (DRAINMAST "F")
(a) Install the partition 162DW in the AFT cargo compartment.
(b) Set the CARGO COMPT LT switch 8LU to OFF.
(c) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(d) Remove the access platform.
