CAUTION: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE BELLOWS FROM /TO THE DRAIN MAST PIPE. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BELLOWS YOU MUST REPLACE IT. TO REPLACE THE BELLOWS IT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE CARGO FLOOR PANELS FOR ACCESS.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE TOOLS TO REMOVE/INSTALL THE BELLOWS FROM/TO THE DRAIN MAST PIPE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DRAIN MAST PIPE VERY EASILY. IF YOU CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DRAIN MAST PIPE, YOU MUST INSTALL A NEW DRAIN MAST.
   (6) Align the drain mast pipe (6) with the extensible bellow (5).
   (7) Connect the extensible bellow (5) to the drain mast pipe (6).
   (8) Slowly and carefully pull the extensible bellow (5) above the drain mast pipe (6).
   (9) Install the clamp (4) on the extensible bellow (5).
   (10) Make sure that the screw of the clamp (4) is in its correct installation position between:
  • The drain mast pipe (6) and the holder (7).
   (11) Tighten the screw of the clamp (4).
   (12) Hang the drain mast (1).
   (13) Do a leak test as follows:
     (a) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the drain mast (1) to collect the water.
     (b) Put the PLUG - BLANKING on the outlet of the drain mast (1).
     (c) In the cabin, remove the washbasin plug from the related washbasin drain hole and stow it.
     (d) Fill the related washbasin that is connected to the applicable drain mast unit with half liter of water.
     (e) Do a visual leak check of:
  • The drain mast (1)
  • The extensible bellow (5)
  • The related water tubing of the aircraft drain mast.
     (f) Make sure that there are no leaks.
     (g) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the outlet of the drain mast (1).
     (h) Remove the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL).
   (14) Install the drain mast as follows:
     (a) Carefully put the drain mast (1) in position on the opening of the aircraft structure.
     (b) Install the screws (2) on the drain mast (1).
     (c) Tighten the screws (2).
     (d) Do the electrical resistance measurement and the final protection of the bonding point(s)
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
     (e) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) to the interfaces of the drain mast (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-11-300-001).
     (f) Make sure that the shape of the full sealant around the drain mast (1) is smooth.
     (g) Let the sealant cure.
NOTE: There are different cure times for different sealant materials. You can refer to the applicable Technical Data Sheet (TDS) of the used sealant for the correct cure time.
     (h) Make sure that the applied sealant is fully cured.
     (i) FOR [4DU] (DRAINMAST "F"), [14DU] (DRAINMAST "F"), [24DU] (DRAINMAST "F")
Apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) to the heads of the screws.
     (j) Apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) to the sealant around the drain mast (1) and the heads of the screws.
NOTE: After you apply Polysulfide Sealant_General Purpose Brushable - (Material No.06AAA1) , it is recommended that you wait for approximately 3 hours before you apply Coating_- Flexible Structure (Material No.04QAB2) . The curing time is shorter when the ambient temperature is higher and longer when the temperature is lower.
