4. Procedure
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE COVERS FROM THE PROBES BEFORE YOU DO THE TEST.
Subtask 30-31-00-720-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Functional Test of the Heating of the Angle of Attack Sensor
   (1) Disconnect the connector from the PHC of the related angle of attack sensor:
     (a) FOR [3FP1] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 1)
PHC1 (6DA1)
     (b) FOR [3FP2] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 2)
PHC2 (6DA2)
     (c) FOR [3FP3] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 3)
PHC3 (6DA3).
   (2) Remove the blanking cap from the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL.
   (3) Make sure that the switch of the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL is in the OFF position.
   (4) Connect the disconnected cable to the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL.
   (5) Connect a MULTIMETER 115 VAC, 10 A - TRMS, to the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL.
   (6) Close the circuit breaker related to the angle of attack sensor:
     (a) FOR [3FP1] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 1)
Circuit breaker 4DA1
     (b) FOR [3FP2] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 2)
Circuit breaker 4DA2
     (c) FOR [3FP3] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 3)
Circuit breaker 4DA3.
   (7) Do a check of the maximum current (Imax) at start-up:
     (a) Set the switch of the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL to ON.
     (b) With the MULTIMETER 115 VAC, 10 A - TRMS, do a check of the value of the maximum current (Imax) at start-up (in 30 seconds or less).
NOTE: The maximum current (Imax) in the heater of the AOA sensor can be measured only at start-up. After the start-up, the current decreases to its nominal consumption.
     (c) Record the result.
NOTE: The measured current must be more than 1.3A.
If the measured current is less than 1.3A, refer either to:
     (d) Put the switch of the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL back to the OFF position.
CAUTION: AFTER YOU MEASURE THE CURRENT OF A SENSOR, LET THE SENSOR BECOME COOL (15 MIN) BEFORE YOU MEASURE THE CURRENT AGAIN. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS PRECAUTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SENSOR.
   (8) You must do the step (7) above two more times because the ageing of the angle of attack sensor can modify the result.
   (9) Open the circuit breaker related to the AOA tested:
     (a) FOR [3FP1] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 1)
Circuit breaker 4DA1
     (b) FOR [3FP2] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 2)
Circuit breaker 4DA2
     (c) FOR [3FP3] (SENSOR-ANGLE OF ATTACK, 3)
Circuit breaker 4DA3.
   (10) Disconnect the MULTIMETER 115 VAC, 10 A - TRMS, from the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL.
   (11) Disconnect the cable from the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL.
   (12) Put the blanking caps on the 97D34103000000 AOA SENSOR TOOL.
   (13) Connect the disconnected cable to the related PHC.
Subtask 30-31-00-010-053-A

Subtask 30-31-00-942-062-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 30-31-00-865-150-A
WARNING: CLOSE THE PHC CIRCUIT BREAKERS 2DA1(2,3) BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE PROBE HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS 1DA1(2), 3DA1(2,3), 4DA1(2,3) AND 5DA1(2,3). IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE, THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
