B. Installation of the Engine Air-Intake Anti-ice Valve
   (1) Remove the protective covers from the electrical connectors on the harness and the anti-ice valve.
   (2) Remove the protective covers from the muscle pressure hose and the union on the anti-ice valve.
   (3) Remove the blanking plugs from the air intake cowl anti-ice supply duct, the forward duct and the anti-ice valve (15).
   (4) Connect the anti-ice valve (15) to the forward duct and the air intake cowl anti-ice supply duct. Use the couplings (10) and serviceable AIPC 30-21-51-01-020 E-SEALS (5). Tighten the coupling sufficiently to hold the anti-ice valve in position.
   (5) Make sure that the flow arrow on the valve points to the air intake cowl anti-ice duct and that the index mark is aligned with the forward duct.
   (6) Do a check of the coupling.
F Duct Coupling Installation ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: WHEN YOU CLOSE THE COUPLING, MAKE SURE THE SADDLE WASHER IS IN CORRECT POSITION. THE SADDLE WASHER IN THE END OF THE SLIDE MUST BE BETWEEN THE NUT AND THE COUPLING BODY. IF THE COUPLING IS NOT CLOSED CORRECTLY IT WILL FAIL.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE SMOOTH CIRCULAR SURFACE OF THE COUPLING IS RADIALLY OUTBOARD FROM THE ENGINE. DO NOT LET THE COUPLING TOUCH ENGINE COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE. DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE COULD OCCUR.
     (a) Try to move the slide.
     (b) If the slide moves, open the coupling.
     (c) Close the coupling with the saddle washer in the correct position between the nut and the coupling.
   (7) TORQUE the nuts on the couplings (10), as follows:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE SMOOTH CIRCULAR SURFACE OF THE COUPLING IS RADIALLY OUTBOARD FROM THE ENGINE. DO NOT LET THE COUPLING TOUCH ENGINE COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE. DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE COULD OCCUR.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE DUCTS ARE CORRECTLY CONNECTED WHEN YOU TORQUE THE COUPLINGS. IF THE DUCTS ARE NOT CORRECTLY CONNECTED THEY CAN LEAK AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO ADJACENT ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS.
     (a) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 85 and 70 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.79 m.daN ) T.
     (b) Lightly hit the perimeter of the coupling in several places. Use a HAMMER - FIBER not made of metal.
     (c) Do steps (a) and (b) above two more times. Then do step (a) again.
   (8) Connect the hose (20) to the valve (15).
   (9) TORQUE the hose coupling to between 160 and 150 lbf.in (1.81 and 1.70 m.daN )
T.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to hold the union on the anti-ice valve when you torque the hose (20) coupling nuts.
   (10) Connect the electrical connector 4000DN-A to the anti-ice valve (15). Tighten the electrical connector with your hand.
Subtask 30-21-51-480-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Preparation for the Leak Test
   (1) Two procedures are possible to find the location of a pneumatic-joint air leak.
NOTE: Apply dry developer only on the connections of the removed pneumatic components. Do not apply dry developer on all the pneumatic components.
You can apply dry developer (Material No.CP3010) around the pneumatic joints or you can apply Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - Sound damping - (Material No.05RAC1) around the pneumatic joint locations.
   (2) Do the steps that follow to apply Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - Sound damping - (Material No.05RAC1) to the pneumatic joint locations:
     (a) Wind the foil wrap around the joint one time.
     (b) Twist the seam of the foil wrap tight as shown.
     (c) Make the foil wrap as tight as possible on the tube but do not cause damage to the wrap.
     (d) Attach the foil wrap with CP8004lockwire 0.6 mm (0.0236 in.) dia at the two sides of the pneumatic joint.
