B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Visual Inspection of the the Seal
(1) Examine the seal for signs of oxidation or carbon flakes.
(2) Examine the seal for unwanted material left on the seal from contact with parts which touch the seal.

B. Cleaning of the Seal
(1) If necessary, clean the surface of the seal with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with methyl alcohol (Material No.CP11-006) .

C. Examination of the Seal
(1) Examine the edges of the seal for cracks, dents, pitting and scratches.
(2) If unwanted material cannot be removed from the seal or if the seal is damaged, replace it.
