D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-21-00-040-096-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Deactivation of the Applicable Anti Ice Valve after a NAI SYSTEM FAILED CLOSED Fault
CAUTION: REMOVE AND INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND ADJACENT COMPONENTS.
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the nacelle anti-ice upper-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-00-040-803).
   (2) Do an operational test of the engine-air-intake ice-protection system (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-00-710-002).
   (3) If the maintenance message does not show, keep the nacelle anti-ice upper-valve in the deactivated position and do step 4.A.(9).
   (4) If the maintenance message shows, do the reactivation of the nacelle anti-ice upper-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-00-440-803)
   (5) Do the deactivation of the nacelle anti-ice lower-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-00-040-804).
   (6) Do an operational test of the engine-air-intake ice-protection system (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-00-710-002).
   (7) If the maintenance message does not show, keep the nacelle anti-ice lower-valve in the deactivated position and do step 4.A.(9).
   (8) If the maintenance message shows, do the reactivation of the nacelle anti-ice lower-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-00-440-804).
   (9) Make an entry in the log book.

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-805).
