3. Job Set-up
Subtask 30-11-51-941-055-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the flap and slat control lever, on panel 114VU, install the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in positions that follow before you start the work on the ice protection system:
  • On the high-pressure ground-power connections, to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system
  • In the cockpit, to tell persons not to operate the engines or APU control switch
  • On the panel 30VU, to tell persons not to pressurize the bleed air system
  • On the panel 114VU, to tell persons not to operate the slat controls.
   (3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below zone 522(622).
   (2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004):
     (a) FOR [9DL] (VALVE-WING ANTI ICE CONTROL, L)
Remove access panel 522AB.
     (b) FOR [10DL] (VALVE-WING ANTI ICE CONTROL, R)
Remove access panel 622AB.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below zone 522(622).
   (2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004):
     (a) FOR [9DL] (VALVE-WING ANTI ICE CONTROL, L)
Remove access panel 522YB.
     (b) FOR [10DL] (VALVE-WING ANTI ICE CONTROL, R)
Remove access panel 622YB.
4. Procedure
Subtask 30-11-51-020-051-A
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE ANTI-ICE DUCTS UNTIL THEY ARE COOL. THE TEMPERATURE OF THE DUCTS STAYS HIGH FOR SOME TIME AFTER THE ENGINE STOPS.
A. Removal of the Anti-Ice Valve Filter (for the Part Numbers (PN) SAS911-002A and SAS912-002A)
NOTE: The anti-ice control valve with the PN SAS912-002A is not approved for the Extended Range Operations for Two-Engine Aeroplanes (ETOPS).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Remove and discard the lockwire from the caps (1) and (2).
   (2) Remove the caps (1) and (2).
   (3) Remove and discard the O-ring (3).
   (4) Remove the filter (4).
   (5) Put the CAP - BLANKING in the opening of the anti-ice control valve.
   (6) Remove and discard the O-ring (5).
   (7) Put the filter (4) in a clean BAG - PLASTIC.

B. Removal of the Anti-ice Valve Filter (for part number 38E93-X)
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE ANTI-ICE DUCTS UNTIL THEY ARE COOL. THE TEMPERATURE OF THE DUCTS STAYS HIGH FOR SOME TIME AFTER THE ENGINE STOPS.
   (1) Remove the cap (13) from the filter (12).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (2) Cut and discard the lockwire from the filter (12) and the anti-ice control valve.
   (3) Remove the filter (12) from the anti-ice control valve.
   (4) Put the PLUG - BLANKING in the opening of the anti-ice control valve.
   (5) Remove the packings (10) and (11), and discard them.
   (6) Put the filter (12) in a clean BAG - PLASTIC.
