A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Make sure that the ground safety locks are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) Install the 98D29208246001 DEVICE-SAFETY,RAT or the 98D29208246000 SAFETY DEVICE-RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-860-007).
   (4) On panel 400VU:
     (a) Make sure that the landing gear control-lever 6GA is in the DOWN position
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gear.
   (5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons that the flap system is in operation.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Do the EIS start procedure (upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (3) Make sure that the Air Data/Inertial Reference System (ADIRS) operates (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-002).
   (4) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key. Make sure that the HYD page comes into view on the ECAM lower DU.
   (5) Make sure that the ECAM does not show the warnings that follow:
  • Low air pressure in the Green, Blue or Yellow hydraulic reservoirs
  • Low fluid level in the Green, Blue or Yellow hydraulic reservoirs.
   (6) If necessary, pressurize the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (7) If necessary, add fluid to the applicable hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
   (8) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is connected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002):
     (a) For location of the isolation coupling refer to

   (9) At the Nose Landing Gear (NLG), make sure that the towing lever is in the normal position (not in the tow position).

F High Pressure Manifold ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
CAUTION: WHEN YOU USE A HYDRAULIC GROUND POWER-SUPPLY OR GROUND CART, MAKE SURE THAT ITS HYDRAULIC FLOW FUNCTION IS LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF 50 LITERS FOR EACH MINUTE AT NOMINAL PRESSURE (3000 PSI). THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PTU WHEN THE HP MANIFOLD HIGH PRESSURE IS STARTED.
   (1) Increase the pressure in the Yellow hydraulic system to 3000 psi (206.84 bar) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002).
   (2) Use the GROUND POWER CART-HYDRAULIC and do the test that follows:

  • Disconnect the flight control-pressure electrical connector 10CE2-A
  • Use a shunt to connect pins A and B of the connector together to simulate high pressure condition.

2.Simulate ENG1 N2>min idle
On panel 85VU:
  • On connector 1KS1-A, use a shunt to connect pins B2E and C28 together to simulate ENG1 running.

3.On the panel 40VU:
  • Set the PTU P/BSW to the ON position.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU starts to supply hydraulic power from the Yellow to the Green hydraulic system.
4.Simulate ENG2 N2>min idle
On panel 86VU:
  • On connector 1KS2-A, use a shunt to connect pins B2E and C28 together to simulate ENG2 running.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU is inhibited.
5.Simulate ADIRU-2>50kts
  • On ADIRU-2 (1FP2), put a ground on the connector AA, pin 2G.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU supplies hydraulic power from the Yellow to the Green hydraulic system.
6.Simulate ADIRU-3>50kts
  • On ADIRU-3 (1FP3), put a ground on the connector AA, pin 2G.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU supplies hydraulic power from the Yellow to the Green hydraulic system.

C. Operational Check of PTU Inhibition Logic
CAUTION: WHEN YOU USE A HYDRAULIC GROUND POWER-SUPPLY OR GROUND CART, MAKE SURE THAT ITS HYDRAULIC FLOW FUNCTION IS LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF 50 LITERS FOR EACH MINUTE AT NOMINAL PRESSURE (3000 PSI). THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PTU WHEN THE HP MANIFOLD HIGH PRESSURE IS STARTED.
   (1) Use the GROUND POWER CART-HYDRAULIC and do the test that follows:

  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off

On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU supplies hydraulic power from the Yellow to the Green hydraulic system.
2.Simulate RH MLG UPLOCKED
  • On LGCIU-2, put a ground on the connector AA, pin 9G.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU is inhibited.
3.Set the S/F control lever to position different from "0" (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU supplies hydraulic power from the Yellow to the Green hydraulic system.
The Flaps move to the set position.
4.Set the S/F control lever back to the "0" position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU is inhibited.
The Flaps move to the set position.
5.On the HP manifold of the Green hydraulic system:
  • Remove the shunt from the control-pressure electrical connector 10CE2-A
  • Disconnect the electrical connector 1151GN-A and use a shunt to connect pins A and C of the connector 1151GN-A to simulate low pressure condition and wait a minimum of 10 seconds.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is OFF
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW comes ON after 6 seconds.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU starts and stops automatically after 6 seconds.
6.On the HP manifold of the Green hydraulic system:
  • Use a shunt to connect pins A and B of the connector 10CE2-A together to simulate high pressure condition and wait a minimum of 25 seconds.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW goes OFF.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that after 20 seconds the PTU starts to supply hydraulic power from the Yellow to the Green hydraulic system.
7.Remove the shunt between pins A and C of the connector 1151GN-A and reconnect the electrical connector 1151GN-A.
8.Simulate NLG compressed:
  • In the LGCIU-2 rack, put a ground on the connector AB, pin 9A.

Simulate ENG1 N2<min idle
On panel 85VU:
  • On connector 1KS1-A, remove the shunt between pins B2E and C28 to simulate ENG1 not running.

Simulate ENG2 N2<min idle
On panel 86VU:
  • On connector 1KS2-A, remove the shunt between pins B2E and C28 to simulate ENG2 not running.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU supplies hydraulic power from the Yellow to the Green hydraulic system.
9.Simulate ENG1 N2>min idle
On panel 85VU:
  • On connector 1KS1-A, use a shunt to connect pins B2E and C28 together to simulate ENG1 running.

Simulate ENG2 N2>min idle
On panel 86VU:
  • On connector 1KS2-A, use a shunt to connect pins B2E and C28 together to simulate ENG2 running.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU supplies hydraulic power from the Yellow to the Green hydraulic system.
10.Simulate ADIRU-2<50kts
  • On ADIRU-2 (1FP2), remove the ground from connector AA, pin 2G.

Simulate ADIRU-3<50kts
  • On ADIRU-3 (1FP3), remove the ground from connector AA, pin 2G.
On the panel 40VU:
  • The OFF legend of the P/BSW is off
  • The FAULT legend of the P/BSW is off.
On the ECAM lower DU:
  • Check that the PTU is inhibited.
   (2) Decrease the pressure in the Yellow hydraulic system to the initial condition (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).

M. Close Access
   (1) Do the ground configuration after flight configuration with electrical power procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-002).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Close access panel 196BB.
   (4) Close the main landing-gear doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).
   (6) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (7) Remove the safety barrier(s).

N. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Do the EIS stop procedure

(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
