- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.

MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

MAKE SURE THAT THE RAT TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU EXTEND/RETRACT THE RAT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
(5) Depressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(7) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the RAT:
Subtask 29-22-00-865-153-A WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
- In the cockpit, on hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel
- On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
(5) Depressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE RAT TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU EXTEND/RETRACT THE RAT.
(6) Extend the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-005). (7) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the RAT:
- On overhead panels 21VU and 40VU.

A. Protection of the RAT Blades
(1) Clean the RAT blades with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
(2) Put the RAT blades in horizontal position and rub Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Ultra-thin Film - (Material No.12ABD1) fully around the front and back surfaces of each blade.
(a) Be careful to apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Ultra-thin Film - (Material No.12ABD1) only to the blade surfaces and do not let it flow into the turbine blade bearing.
5. Close-up(1) Clean the RAT blades with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
(2) Put the RAT blades in horizontal position and rub Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Ultra-thin Film - (Material No.12ABD1) fully around the front and back surfaces of each blade.
(a) Be careful to apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Ultra-thin Film - (Material No.12ABD1) only to the blade surfaces and do not let it flow into the turbine blade bearing.
NOTE: It is not possible to apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Ultra-thin Film - (Material No.12ABD1) too frequently or too much with this procedure.
(3) After you apply the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Ultra-thin Film - (Material No.12ABD1) , make sure that the RAT blades have a tack-free moist surface. Subtask 29-22-00-865-154-A
A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(3) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

MAKE SURE THAT THE RAT TRAVEL RANGE IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU EXTEND/RETRACT THE RAT.
(2) Retract the RAT (Ref. AMM TASK 29-22-00-869-006). (3) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
