Servicing of the Reservoir Pressurization Filter

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems:
  • in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
  • on the ground service panel of the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems.
   (3) Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized and put them in the maintenance configuration
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (4) Depressurize the reservoirs of the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

A. Removal of the Filter Element
   (1) Remove the spring clip (2) from the filter bowl (5).
   (2) Remove the filter bowl (5) and the filter element (3).
   (3) Remove and discard the filter element (3) and the O-ring (4).

B. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-14-41-01-050 O-RING (4) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
   (2) Lubricate the O-ring of the new filter element (3) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
   (3) Lubricate the threads of the filter bowl (5) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .

C. Installation of the Filter Element
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Install the new O-ring (4) on the filter bowl (5).
   (4) Do a check of the filter element (3) and make sure that it is clean and not damaged.
   (5) Engage the filter element (3) in the reservoir pressurization unit (1).
   (6) Install the filter bowl (5) in the reservoir pressurization unit (1).
NOTE: Tighten the filter bowl with your hand only.
   (7) Install the spring clip (2) on the filter bowl.
   (8) If the clogging indicator is out, push it in to set it again.

D. Test of the Filter and the Automatic Drain Valve
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
1KD, 2KD, 1701GK, 1702GK, 2701GJ, 2702GJ, 3801GX, 3802GX, 3803GX.
   (3) Operate the reservoir pressurizing system:
NOTE: The pressurization of the reservoirs with the APU and the ground supply is necessary to make sure that the operation of the automatic drain valve is correct.
     (a) Make sure that the automatic drain valve (6) is open.
     (b) Start the APU.
     (c) Make sure that the bleed air supply from the APU is set to supply the reservoir pressurizing system (Ref. AMM TASK 36-12-00-710-001).
     (d) At the same time as you pressurize the reservoirs, apply Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen System (Material No.14CCB6) to the connection of the filter bowl and the reservoir pressurization unit.
     (e) Make sure that there are no leaks between the filter bowl and the reservoir pressurization unit.
     (f) Make sure that the clogging indicator stays in.
     (g) Make sure that the automatic drain valve (6) is closed (you can see the green indicator).
     (h) Stop the operation of the APU.
     (i) Depressurize the reservoirs of the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
     (j) Make sure that the automatic drain valve (6) is open.
     (k) Pressurize the reservoirs of the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic system with a ground supply (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002) and examine for leaks as above.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 195AB.
