Installation of the Convoluted Bleed Hose with Restrictor
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE YOU START WORK. PRESSURIZED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(2) Make sure that the hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems:
Subtask 29-14-13-941-056-A (1) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(2) Make sure that the hydraulic reservoirs are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems:
- On access door 197CB, on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
- On access door 197EB, on the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
- On access door 198CB, on the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:

(2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF legend on).
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 29-14-13-010-058-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). E. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the pylon.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the thrust-reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(2) Make sure that an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the pylon.
Subtask 29-14-13-420-053-A
A. Installation of the Convoluted Bleed Hose with Restrictor
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the convoluted bleed hose (2) and from the unions of the pipe (1) and the duct (3).
(5) Connect the convoluted bleed hose (2) to the duct (3).
(6) Tighten the coupling nut of the convoluted bleed hose (2) to the duct (3) with your hand.
(7) Hold the union of the duct (3) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the coupling nut of the convoluted bleed hose (2) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
.
(8) Connect the convoluted bleed hose (2) to the pipe (1).
(9) Tighten the coupling nut of the convoluted bleed hose (2) to the pipe (1) with your hand.
(10) Hold the union of the pipe (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the coupling nut of the convoluted bleed hose (2) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )

(11) Install the nut (4), washer (5) and bolt (6).
(12) Tighten the nut (4).
(13) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 29-14-13-720-050-A CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Remove the PLUG - BLANKING from the convoluted bleed hose (2) and from the unions of the pipe (1) and the duct (3).
(5) Connect the convoluted bleed hose (2) to the duct (3).
(6) Tighten the coupling nut of the convoluted bleed hose (2) to the duct (3) with your hand.
(7) Hold the union of the duct (3) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the coupling nut of the convoluted bleed hose (2) to between 3.2 and 2.9 m.daN (23.60 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. (8) Connect the convoluted bleed hose (2) to the pipe (1).
(9) Tighten the coupling nut of the convoluted bleed hose (2) to the pipe (1) with your hand.
(10) Hold the union of the pipe (1) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the coupling nut of the convoluted bleed hose (2) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
. (11) Install the nut (4), washer (5) and bolt (6).
(12) Tighten the nut (4).
(13) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
B. Test
(1) Do the functional test of the hydraulic reservoir pressurization system with the left engine (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-720-002).
(2) Make sure that there are no leaks at the convoluted bleed hose (2).
5. Close-up(1) Do the functional test of the hydraulic reservoir pressurization system with the left engine (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-720-002).
(2) Make sure that there are no leaks at the convoluted bleed hose (2).
