WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.

Subtask 29-14-13-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (2) Depressurize the hydraulic reservoirs (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Open access doors 197CB, 197EB and 198CB:
     (a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green and Yellow hydraulic systems:
  • On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
  • On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
  • On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (4) Open access door 195BB:
     (a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic reservoirs.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (2) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
  • Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
  • Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (OFF legend on).
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
   (3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
  • Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green, Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems.
   (4) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).
   (5) On the HP ground connectors:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.

   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):

D. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

E. Get Access
   (1) Open the left thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
451AL.
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the pylon.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-14-13-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Convoluted Bleed Hose with Restrictor
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
   (1) Disconnect the convoluted bleed hose (2) from the pipe (1).
   (2) Disconnect the convoluted bleed hose (2) from the pipe (3).
   (3) Remove the convoluted bleed hose (2).
   (4) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the convoluted bleed hose (2) and on the union of the pipes (1) and (3).
