Installation of the Engine Pump
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE HYDRAULIC PUMP IS SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED DURING REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. THE HYDRAULIC PUMP WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 35 LBS (13 KG). IF IT IS NOT SUFFICIENTLY SUPPORTED, INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
(4) On the ECAM control panel:
Subtask 29-13-51-941-073-A (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001)
(4) On the ECAM control panel:
- Make sure that the HYD key is pushed.
- Make sure that the ENG2/FIRE pushbutton is released.
- On the HYD page, make sure that the fire shut-off valve (3046GD) is closed.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(4) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 29-13-51-865-083-A (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
- On the HYD section of panel 40VU
- On access door 198CB, on the ground-service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

A. Installation of the Engine Pump
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the engine pump (1).
(5) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(6) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(7) Lubricate the threads of the four nuts (15) and the new AIPC 29-11-51-20-040 PACKING (18) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(8) Install the packing (18) on the splined shaft of the AGB (19).
(9) Carefully, install the engine pump (1) and the new AIPC 29-11-51-51-010 GASKET (17) in the correct position on the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) (19).
(10) Install the four nuts (15) and the four washers (16) to attach the engine pump (1) to the AGB (19) and tighten them with your hand.
(11) Do a running torque check of the nuts (15).
(b) Measure the maximum torque to turn each nut (15).

(13) If the new engine pump (1) does not have the unions (4), (8) and the inline damper (12) installed, do these steps:
(a) Lubricate the new packing (6), new packing (10), new packing (20), new packing (21) and new retainers (14) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(b) Lubricate the threads of the unions (4), (8) and the inline damper (12) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(c) Install the new AIPC 29-11-49-05-070 PACKING (6) on the union (4).
(d) Install the new AIPC 29-11-39-02-070 PACKING (10) on the union (8).
(e) Install the new AIPC 29-13-51-50-095 PACKING (20), new AIPC 29-13-51-50-080 PACKING (21) and new AIPC 29-13-51-50-090 RETAINER (14) on the inline damper (12).
(f) Install the union (4) on the engine pump (1) and do the triple-torque procedure on the union (4) in the sequence that follows:
(i) TORQUE the inline damper (12) to between 120 and 110 m.N (88.50 and 81.12 lbf.ft )

(14) Connection of the pressure hose (11) to the inline damper (12):
(a) Adjust the pressure hose (11) to keep preload to a minimum. Make sure that there are no kinks in the pressure hose (11).
(b) Hold the inline damper (12) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and do the triple-torque procedure on the union nut of the pressure hose (11) in the sequence that follows:
(a) Install the suction hose (7) in the correct position to the union (8).
1 Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the union (8) when you tighten the coupling nut.
(b) TORQUE the union of the hose (7) to between 106.2 and 100 m.N (78.32 and 73.75 lbf.ft )
.
(16) Connection of the case drain hose (3) to the engine pump (1):
(a) Install the case drain hose (3) in the correct position to the union (4).
1 Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the union (4) when you tighten the coupling nut.
(b) TORQUE the union of the hose (3) to between 32.7 and 30 m.N (24.11 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
.
(17) Cut, remove and discard the Tie wrap that attaches the electrical harness connector (2) to the surrounding part.
(18) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(19) Connect the electrical harnesses connector (2) to the engine pump (1) with your hand and then with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(20) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(21) Identify the tightened nuts (15) with a red line (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
Subtask 29-13-51-865-084-A WARNING:
USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(4) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the engine pump (1).
(5) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(6) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
(7) Lubricate the threads of the four nuts (15) and the new AIPC 29-11-51-20-040 PACKING (18) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(8) Install the packing (18) on the splined shaft of the AGB (19).
(9) Carefully, install the engine pump (1) and the new AIPC 29-11-51-51-010 GASKET (17) in the correct position on the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) (19).
(10) Install the four nuts (15) and the four washers (16) to attach the engine pump (1) to the AGB (19) and tighten them with your hand.
(11) Do a running torque check of the nuts (15).
CAUTION:
DISCARD THE NUT(S) IF YOU CAN TURN THEM BY HAND WITH NO RESISTANCE.
(a) Turn each nut (15) in the tightening direction with the applicable WRENCH - TORQUE. (b) Measure the maximum torque to turn each nut (15).
NOTE: The maximum torque is usually found immediately before the nut (15) starts to turn. If the torque is less than 9.73 lbf.in (0.11 m.daN), replace the nut (15) and do step 4.A.(12) again.
(12) TORQUE the four nuts (15) to between 34 and 29 m.N (25.07 and 21.39 lbf.ft )
. (13) If the new engine pump (1) does not have the unions (4), (8) and the inline damper (12) installed, do these steps:
(a) Lubricate the new packing (6), new packing (10), new packing (20), new packing (21) and new retainers (14) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(b) Lubricate the threads of the unions (4), (8) and the inline damper (12) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
(c) Install the new AIPC 29-11-49-05-070 PACKING (6) on the union (4).
(d) Install the new AIPC 29-11-39-02-070 PACKING (10) on the union (8).
(e) Install the new AIPC 29-13-51-50-095 PACKING (20), new AIPC 29-13-51-50-080 PACKING (21) and new AIPC 29-13-51-50-090 RETAINER (14) on the inline damper (12).
(f) Install the union (4) on the engine pump (1) and do the triple-torque procedure on the union (4) in the sequence that follows:
- TORQUE the union (4) to between 32.7 and 30 m.N (24.11 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
. - Loosen the union (4) to 0 lbf.in (0 m.daN).
- TORQUE the union (4) to between 32.7 and 30 m.N (24.11 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
. - TORQUE the union (4) again to between 32.7 and 30 m.N (24.11 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
.
- TORQUE the union (8) to between 106.2 and 100 m.N (78.32 and 73.75 lbf.ft )
. - Loosen the union (8) to 0 lbf.in (0 m.daN).
- TORQUE the union (8) to between 106.2 and 100 m.N (78.32 and 73.75 lbf.ft )
. - TORQUE the union (8) again to between 106.2 and 100 m.N (78.32 and 73.75 lbf.ft )
.
(i) TORQUE the inline damper (12) to between 120 and 110 m.N (88.50 and 81.12 lbf.ft )
. (14) Connection of the pressure hose (11) to the inline damper (12):
(a) Adjust the pressure hose (11) to keep preload to a minimum. Make sure that there are no kinks in the pressure hose (11).
(b) Hold the inline damper (12) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and do the triple-torque procedure on the union nut of the pressure hose (11) in the sequence that follows:
- TORQUE the union nut of the pressure hose (11) to between 95 and 85 m.N (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
. - Loosen the union nut of the pressure hose (11) to 0 lbf.in (0 m.daN).
- TORQUE the union nut of the pressure hose (11) to between 95 and 85 m.N (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
. - TORQUE the union nut of the pressure hose (11) again to between 95 and 85 m.N (70.06 and 62.68 lbf.ft )
.
(a) Install the suction hose (7) in the correct position to the union (8).
1 Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the union (8) when you tighten the coupling nut.
(b) TORQUE the union of the hose (7) to between 106.2 and 100 m.N (78.32 and 73.75 lbf.ft )
. (16) Connection of the case drain hose (3) to the engine pump (1):
(a) Install the case drain hose (3) in the correct position to the union (4).
1 Use a second WRENCH - STANDARD to hold the union (4) when you tighten the coupling nut.
(b) TORQUE the union of the hose (3) to between 32.7 and 30 m.N (24.11 and 22.12 lbf.ft )
. (17) Cut, remove and discard the Tie wrap that attaches the electrical harness connector (2) to the surrounding part.
(18) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(19) Connect the electrical harnesses connector (2) to the engine pump (1) with your hand and then with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(20) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
(21) Identify the tightened nuts (15) with a red line (Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Do the hydraulic maintenance procedure after an engine pump installation (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-51-860-001).
5. Close-upSubtask 29-13-51-860-086-A
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key:

- On the lower ECAM DU, the HYD page comes into view.
- Push the ENG2/FIRE pushbutton switch.
- On the HYD page, make sure that the fire shutoff valve (3046GD) is open.
B. Close Access
(1) Remove the container.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

(5) Close access doors 198CB and 195BB.
Subtask 29-13-51-860-087-A (1) Remove the container.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

(5) Close access doors 198CB and 195BB.
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
