Cleaning of the Engine Pump Solenoid-Valve

WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the ground service panel to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 29-13-51-865-085-A (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the ground service panel to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

D. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
Subtask 29-13-51-130-054-A
A. Cleaning of the Engine Pump Solenoid-Valve
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the hydraulic connections of the engine pump to collect the remaining fluid.
(4) Remove the engine pump solenoid-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-51-000-810).
(5) Flush the bore.
(a) Flush the bore of the solenoid valve (1) many times with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) .
(6) Dry the bore of the solenoid valve (1) with clean BLOWING EQUIPMENT - DRY AIR.
(7) Ultrasonic cleaning
(a) Fill the CLEANING EQUIPMENT - ULTRASONIC with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) to the level given in the manufacturer's handbook.
(b) Carefully put the solenoid valve into the basket, then put the basket fully into the liquid. Do not put the electrical connector into the liquid.
(c) Start the CLEANING EQUIPMENT - ULTRASONIC and let it operate for ten minutes.
(8) Dry all the solenoid valve components with the clean BLOWING EQUIPMENT - DRY AIR.
(9) Examine the components after cleaning to make sure that the valve body (3) ports C, P and R and the valve spool (2) are clean.
(10) Install the engine pump solenoid-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-51-400-810).
Subtask 29-13-51-865-086-A (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the hydraulic connections of the engine pump to collect the remaining fluid.
(4) Remove the engine pump solenoid-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-51-000-810).

(10) Install the engine pump solenoid-valve (Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-51-400-810).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test(s)
(1) Do a check of the reservoir fluid level (Ref. AMM TASK 29-30-00-200-001) and fill the reservoir, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(2) Do the operational test of the engine-driven pump depressurization (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-710-004).
(a) Make sure that there is no leak from the solenoid valve interface.
(3) Do a check of the reservoir fluid level again (Ref. AMM TASK 29-30-00-200-001) and fill the reservoir, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
5. Close-up(1) Do a check of the reservoir fluid level (Ref. AMM TASK 29-30-00-200-001) and fill the reservoir, if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(2) Do the operational test of the engine-driven pump depressurization (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-710-004).

(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):

(6) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Remove the container.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(4) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
