Removal of the Solenoid-Valve of Engine Pump


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING: DO NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY. FLUSH HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR SKIN WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOU GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES OR MOUTH.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.
1. Reason for the Job
This procedure is applicable only on engine pump P/N 887673 or 3031863-001 or 3031863-002 or 4205400 or 4205401.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-51-860-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001).
   (2) Depressurize the reservoir of the yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Open the ground service panel 198CB.
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the yellow hydraulic system:
  • On the ground service panel 198CB.
   (5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the yellow hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the yellow hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (2) Put a CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT in position below the hydraulic pump to collect the fluid.

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-51-020-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Solenoid-Valve of Engine Pump P/N 887673 or 3031863-001 or 3031863-002
CAUTION: DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS AND THUS CAUSE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT DEFECTS.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the solenoid valve (3).
   (2) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (2) and the electrical receptacle.
   (3) Safety the electrical harness.
   (4) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area to make sure that no contamination goes into the bore.
   (5) Remove the bolts (1).
   (6) Removal of the solenoid valve (3)
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO LIQUIDS, DUST OR CONTAMINANTS ON THE MOUNTING SURFACE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Hold the solenoid valve (3) in the vertical position on the mounting surface and pull it out from the engine pump.
   (7) Put a COVER - BLANKING, HYDRAULIC RESISTANT on the open port of the engine pump.
   (8) Make sure that the packings and the backup rings are in position on the removed solenoid valve (3):

B. Removal of the Solenoid-Valve of Engine Pump P/N 4205400 or 4205401
CAUTION: DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS AND THUS CAUSE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT DEFECTS.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the solenoid valve (3).
   (2) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connector (2) and the electrical receptacle.
   (3) Safety the electrical harness.
   (4) Removal of lockwire
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Cut, remove and discard the lockwire from the bolts (1).
   (5) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area to make sure that no contamination goes into the bore.
   (6) Remove the two bolts (1).
   (7) Removal of the solenoid valve (3)
CAUTION: WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE SOLENOID VALVE, DO NOT LET PARTS OF THE VALVE FALL INTO THE ENGINE PUMP. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE PUMP.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO LIQUIDS, DUST OR CONTAMINANTS ON THE MOUNTING SURFACE. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Hold the solenoid valve (3) in the vertical position on the mounting surface and pull it out from the engine pump (7).
   (8) Put a COVER - BLANKING, HYDRAULIC RESISTANT on the open port of the engine pump (7).
   (9) Make sure that the packing (5) and the two backup rings (4) and (6) are in position on the removed solenoid valve (3):
