Removal of the Engine Pump
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL DURING THE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION OF THE PUMP BECAUSE IT WEIGHS 22 LB (10.2 KG).
WARNING:
DO NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY. FLUSH HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR SKIN WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOU GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES OR MOUTH.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do the system check applicable after pump damage (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006), if you remove the pump:
(3) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
(6) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key:
Subtask 29-13-51-941-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do the system check applicable after pump damage (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006), if you remove the pump:
- Because of operation without fluid (dry running)
- Or because of malfunction if you think that there is a pump internal damage. If there is a pump damage and an overheat condition, do also the system check applicable after overheat condition (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-005).
(3) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
- on the ground service panel 198CB.
(6) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key:
- On the SD, the HYD page comes into view.
- Lift the guard and release the ENG2/FIRE pushbutton switch.
- Make sure that the fire shut-off valve (3046GD) is closed.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
(6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic connections of the engine pump to collect the remaining fluid.
Subtask 29-13-51-010-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
- put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
- in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
- make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic connections of the engine pump to collect the remaining fluid.
C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

A. Removal of the Engine Pump
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (5) from the pump (6).

(2) Disconnect the hydraulic hoses.
(a) Put the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the pump (6).
(b) Disconnect the pressure hose (2), the suction hose (1) and the case drain hose (12) from the pump unions. Collect the hydraulic fluid in the container.

(3) Disconnect the hydraulic hoses.
(a) Put the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the pump (6).
(b) Disconnect the suction hose (1) and the case drain hose (12) from the pump unions.
(c) Disconnect the pressure hose (2) from the dampener (18). Collect the hydraulic fluid in the container.

(4) Remove the self-sealing coupling (17).

(5) Remove the unions:
(a) Remove the unions (3), (11) and (14) from the pump (6).
(b) Remove the packings (4), (15) and (16) from the union (3), the packing (13) from the union (14) and the packing (10) from the union (11). Discard the packings.

(6) Remove the unions and the dampener:
(a) Remove the unions (11), (14) and the dampener (18) from the pump.
(b) Remove the packing (13) from the union (14) and the packing (10) from the union (11). Discard the packings.
(c) Remove the packings (19), (21) and the retainers (20) from the dampener (18). Discard the packings.

(7) Remove the pump (6):
(a) Loosen the nuts (9) and turn the pump to put the nuts in the large holes.
(b) Remove and discard the nuts (9).
(c) Remove the pump (6).
(d) Discard the gasket (7) and the seal (8).
(8) Install COVER - BLANKING to all the connections and mating faces to prevent damage and contamination:
(a) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the mating faces of the pump and the gearbox.
(b) Put PLUG - BLANKING on the openings of the pump and the hoses.
(c) Put CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connector and the electrical receptacle.
(9) Remove the container from below the engine hydraulic pump and discard the drained hydraulic fluid.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (5) from the pump (6).

(7) Remove the pump (6):
