B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Do the system check applicable after pump damage (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006), if you remove the pump:
  • because of operation without fluid (dry running)
  • or because of malfunction if you think that there is a pump internal damage. If there is a pump damage and an overheat condition, do also the system check applicable after overheat condition (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-005).
   (2) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-864-001).
   (3) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 195CB.
   (5) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.
   (6) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key:
  • On the SD, the HYD page comes into view.
   (7) On the overhead panel 20VU:
  • Lift the guard and release the ENG2/FIRE pushbutton switch.
   (8) On the SD:
  • Make sure that the fire shut-off valve (3046GD) is closed.

C. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the panel 40VU.
   (4) On the maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off
  • put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (5) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the Yellow engine pump to collect the remaining fluid.
   (6) Do a visual check of the element of the Yellow engine 2 pump case drain filter (3084GM), if you remove the pump:
  • because of operation without fluid (dry running)
  • or because of malfunction if you think that there is internal damage.
   (7) Do also a visual check of the related Yellow HP filter element (3048GM):
  • if you find metal chips or decomposed hydraulic fluid (jelly) in the filter element
  • if you find contamination on the filters, flush the lines that connect the pump to the filters.
