Installation of the Compensated Slide
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green and Yellow Hydraulic systems.
(3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
Subtask 29-13-47-860-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) You must obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002) when you do work on the hydraulic system. (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green and Yellow Hydraulic systems.
(3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow Hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position.
(5) Make sure that the access panel 674AB is open.
Subtask 29-13-47-860-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Yellow Hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position.
(5) Make sure that the access panel 674AB is open.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow Hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position.
(5) Make sure that the access panel 674AB is removed.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the Yellow Hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir has been depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Make sure that the isolation coupling of the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in position.
(5) Make sure that the access panel 674AB is removed.
Subtask 29-13-47-420-051-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9)
(4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(5) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
Subtask 29-13-47-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(2) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.

B. Installation of the Compensated Slide
(2) Put the compensated slide (1) in position.
(4) Hold the fire shut-off valve (3) then connect and tighten the nut (2).
Subtask 29-13-47-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
(1) Remove the blanking caps from the nut (5) and the fire shut-off valve (3). (2) Put the compensated slide (1) in position.
NOTE: You can compress or extend the compensated slide to install it.
(3) Hold the nut (4) then connect and tighten the nut (5). (4) Hold the fire shut-off valve (3) then connect and tighten the nut (2).
B. Installation of the Compensated Slide
(2) Hold the nut (4) then connect and loosely tighten the nut (5).
(3) Hold the fire shut-off valve (3) then connect and loosely tighten the nut (2).
(4) TORQUE the nuts (2) and (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
Subtask 29-13-47-860-053-A WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
(1) Put the compensated slide (1) in position and set to 20 -3 +3 mm (0.79 -0.12 +0.12 in.). (2) Hold the nut (4) then connect and loosely tighten the nut (5).
(3) Hold the fire shut-off valve (3) then connect and loosely tighten the nut (2).
(4) TORQUE the nuts (2) and (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).
C. Aircraft Configuration
(1) Connect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).

D. Fill and Pressurize the Hydraulic Systems
(2) Fill the Yellow system reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(3) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-863-001).
Subtask 29-13-47-790-050-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002). (2) Fill the Yellow system reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(3) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-24-00-863-001).
E. Leak Test
(1) Examine the hydraulic connections of the compensated slide (1) for leaks.

F. Depressurize the Applicable Hydraulic System
(1) Depressurize the Yellow Hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) from below the compensated slide (1).
(3) Close the access panel 674AB.
