Replacement of the Clogging Indicator

   (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system:
  • In the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel
  • On the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the access panel 196BB.

D. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (3) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (5) Put the CONTAINER 1 L (1/4 USGAL) below the filter to collect the unwanted hydraulic fluid.
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Clogging Indicator
   (1) Loosen and remove the clogging indicator (4) from the filter head (1).
   (2) Remove and discard the packings (7) and (8) from the clogging indicator (4).
   (3) Remove and retain the ring (6) from the clogging indicator (4).

B. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Put the ring (6) on the clogging indicator (4).
   (2) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-13-45-01-050 PACKING (7) and the new AIPC 29-13-45-01-060 PACKING (8) with the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) and install them on the clogging indicator (4).
   (3) Lubricate the threads of the clogging indicator (4) with the Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .

C. Installation of the Clogging Indicator
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Install the new clogging indicator (4) in the filter head (1).

F. Test of the Filter Assembly
   (1) Pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (2) Pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002).
   (3) Make sure that the clogging indicator stays in.
   (4) Make sure that no hydraulic fluid comes out of the filter assembly.
   (5) Depressurize the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
5. Close-up
Subtask 29-13-45-860-054-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Make sure that the fluid level in the Yellow reservoir is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
   (2) Remove the container from below the filter.
   (3) Connect the PTU isolation coupling (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Close Access
   (1) Close the access panel 196BB.
