A. Removal of the Filter Element
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire between the filter bowl (1) and the filter head (3).
(2) Remove the filter bowl (1) together with the filter element (2).
(3) Remove the filter element (2) from the filter bowl (1). Discard the filter element (2).
(a) If you find metal particles in the filter element you must check the associated hydraulic system after operation of the engine pump in possible cavitation condition (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006).
Subtask 29-13-45-560-050-A (1) Cut and remove the lockwire between the filter bowl (1) and the filter head (3).
(2) Remove the filter bowl (1) together with the filter element (2).
(3) Remove the filter element (2) from the filter bowl (1). Discard the filter element (2).
NOTE: It is possible that the filter element (2) will stay in the filter head (3). If it does, pull it out.
(4) Examine the filter element in order to find the causes of contamination: (a) If you find metal particles in the filter element you must check the associated hydraulic system after operation of the engine pump in possible cavitation condition (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006).
NOTE: It is not necessary to do the check of the associated hydraulic systems if you find non-metalic particles.
