Installation of the Engine-Pump Case-Drain Filter Differential-Pressure Indicator


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-13-43-860-076-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) On ground service-panel door of the Yellow hydraulic system 198CB:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (4) On access door 196BB:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic reservoir.
Subtask 29-13-43-010-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that left fan cowl door 447AL is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
Subtask 29-13-43-941-077-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine (1)2 shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) In the cockpit, on the HYD section of overhead panel 40VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
   (4) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/(1)2 pushbutton switch is off.
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC (1)2.
   (5) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-13-43-420-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Engine-Pump Case-Drain Filter Differential-Pressure Indicator
   (1) Remove the blanking cover from the engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator port.
   (2) Install the ring (20) and the packings (30):
CAUTION: RING (20) IS FITTED AT THE NEAREST POSITION TO THE HEXHEAD.
CAUTION: USE A NEW RING (20) AND PACKINGS (30) WHEN FITTING THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE INDICATOR (10) IN THE FILTER MODULE PORT.
     (a) Put the AIPC 29-13-43-02-060 RING (20) on the engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator (10).
     (b) Lubricate the
AIPC 29-13-43-02-070 PACKING (30) and the AIPC 29-13-43-02-080 PACKING (30) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
     (c) Put the packings (30) on the engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator (10).
     (d) Install the engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator (10) in the filter head port.
     (e) TORQUE the engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator (10) to between 14.7 and 12.5 m.N (130.09 and 110.62 lbf.in ) T.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (f) With the 14QMC1Wire-Locking Dia: 0.9 mm CRES -, safety the engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator (10) to the filter head.
Subtask 29-13-43-710-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Operational Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the Yellow hydraulic system (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-13-00-710-002).
   (2) During the dry-motoring of the Engine 2, make sure that:
  • There are no leaks from the engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator
  • The engine-pump case-drain filter differential-pressure indicator is not extended.
5. Close-up
Subtask 29-13-43-942-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the safety precautions
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the container.
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Close Access
   (1) Close left fan cowl door 447AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).
