A. Installation of the Engine-Pump Pressure Switch
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) is in position below the pressure switch (3).
   (4) Remove CAP - BLANKING from the pressure switch (3).
   (5) Apply hydraulic fluid:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE HIGH-DENSITY FLUID SKYDROL 500B-4 FOR A320NEO FAMILY. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
     (a) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the threads of the pressure switch (3).
   (6) Install the pressure switch (3) with the clamp (5) and the bolts (6) to the bracket (2).
   (7) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
   (8) Connect the hose (1) to the pressure switch (3) and tighten the union of the hose (1) with your hand.
   (9) TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 4.32 and 3.68 m.N (38.23 and 32.57 lbf.in ) T.
   (10) Hold the pressure switch (3) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the union of the hose (1) to between 45.8 and 42.9 m.N (33.78 and 31.64 lbf.ft )
T.
   (11) Identify the tightened union nuts with a red line
(
Ref. AMM TASK 20-23-22-910-001).
   (12) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connector (4).
   (13) Connect the electrical connector (4) to the pressure switch (3) and tighten it with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
