Removal of the Engine-Pump Pressure Switch
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Yellow hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002)
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Open access door 195BB:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 29-13-17-865-065-A (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate this pushbutton switch.
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system on the ground service panel.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Yellow hydraulic system.
(4) Open access door 195BB:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Yellow hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

D. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

A. Removal of the Engine-Pump Pressure Switch
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the pressure switch (3).
(3) Put CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connector (4).
(4) Hold the pressure switch (3) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the union of the hose (1).
(5) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hose (1) into the container.
(6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(7) Remove the bolts (6) and clamp (5) that attach the pressure switch (3) to the bracket (2).
(8) Remove the pressure switch (3).
(9) Put CAP - BLANKING on the pressure switch (3).
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Put a CONTAINER 20L (5 USGAL) below the pressure switch (3) to collect the remaining hydraulic fluid. - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the pressure switch (3).
(3) Put CAP - BLANKING on the electrical connector (4).
(4) Hold the pressure switch (3) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the union of the hose (1).
(5) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the hose (1) into the container.
(6) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(7) Remove the bolts (6) and clamp (5) that attach the pressure switch (3) to the bracket (2).
(8) Remove the pressure switch (3).
(9) Put CAP - BLANKING on the pressure switch (3).
