Removal of the Case Drain Filter-Assembly
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Depressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below access door 195BB.
Subtask 29-12-43-010-053-A WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
- In the cockpit, on hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel.
- On the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(4) Depressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below access door 195BB.
B. Get Access
(1) Open access door 195BB.
(2) Put the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT below the case drain filter-assembly to collect the unwanted hydraulic fluid.
4. Procedure(1) Open access door 195BB.
(2) Put the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT below the case drain filter-assembly to collect the unwanted hydraulic fluid.

A. Removal of the Case Drain Filter-Assembly
(2) Put a PLUG - BLANKING in the open port.
(3) Loosen the pipe end-fitting (11) and disconnect the pipe (12) from the union (3).
(4) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected pipe end.
(5) Remove components for installation again on a new case drain filter-assembly, if necessary:
(a) Remove the clogging indicator (16) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-43-960-001).
(b) Remove the check valve (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-003).
(c) Remove the packing (15).
(d) Discard the packing (15).
(e) Remove the union (8) and the packing (7).
(f) Discard the packing (7).
(g) Remove the union (3) and the packing (6).
(h) Discard the packing (6).
(i) Install a PLUG - BLANKING in all of the removed components.
(6) Put a PLUG - BLANKING in each open port of the case drain filter-assembly (2).
(7) Hold the case drain filter-assembly (2) and remove the bolts (10) and the washers (9).
(8) Remove the case drain filter-assembly (2) from the bracket (1).
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
(1) Loosen the pipe end-fittings (13) and disconnect the pipe (14) from the check valve (5) and from the structure. (2) Put a PLUG - BLANKING in the open port.
(3) Loosen the pipe end-fitting (11) and disconnect the pipe (12) from the union (3).
(4) Put a PLUG - BLANKING on the disconnected pipe end.
(5) Remove components for installation again on a new case drain filter-assembly, if necessary:
(a) Remove the clogging indicator (16) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-12-43-960-001).
(b) Remove the check valve (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-003).
(c) Remove the packing (15).
(d) Discard the packing (15).
(e) Remove the union (8) and the packing (7).
(f) Discard the packing (7).
(g) Remove the union (3) and the packing (6).
(h) Discard the packing (6).
(i) Install a PLUG - BLANKING in all of the removed components.
(6) Put a PLUG - BLANKING in each open port of the case drain filter-assembly (2).
(7) Hold the case drain filter-assembly (2) and remove the bolts (10) and the washers (9).
(8) Remove the case drain filter-assembly (2) from the bracket (1).
