Installation of the Blue Power Accumulator
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Make sure that the access door 195BB is open.
(5) Make sure that the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT is in position.
(6) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
Subtask 29-12-42-865-051-A WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002). (2) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(3) Make sure that the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(4) Make sure that the access door 195BB is open.
(5) Make sure that the CONTAINER - HYDRAULIC FLUID RESISTANT is in position.
(6) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system:
- in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
- on the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system.
B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Preparation of the Replacement Component
(a) Remove the union (10) and the O-ring (9).
(b) Remove and discard the lockwire from the adapter (3).
(c) Remove the adapter (3) complete with the charging valve (2) and the pressure gage (1).
(d) Remove the O-ring (4) from the accumulator (8).
(e) Discard the O-rings (4) and (9).
(2) Install the removed parts on the replaced accumulator as follows:
(a) Remove the blanking caps from the accumulator (8).
(b) Clean the union and the adapter connections and make sure that they are in good condition.
(c) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-12-03-06-070 O-RINGS (9) or AIPC 29-12-83-08-100 O-RINGS (9) and the new AIPC 29-12-03-06-110 O-RINGS (4) or AIPC 29-12-83-08-080 O-RINGS (4) and all threads with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
(d) Install the O-ring (9) on the removed union (10).
(e) Install the union (10) and TORQUE it to between 6.827 and 6.258 m.daN (50.35 and 46.15 lbf.ft )

(f) Install the O-ring (4) on the removed adapter (3).
(g) Install the adapter (3) together with the air pressure gage (1) and the charging valve (2).
(h) TORQUE the adapter (3) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
.
(i) Safety the adapter (3) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)..
Subtask 29-12-42-560-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(1) Remove the parts which are attached to the removed accumulator (8) as follows: (a) Remove the union (10) and the O-ring (9).
(b) Remove and discard the lockwire from the adapter (3).
(c) Remove the adapter (3) complete with the charging valve (2) and the pressure gage (1).
(d) Remove the O-ring (4) from the accumulator (8).
(e) Discard the O-rings (4) and (9).
(2) Install the removed parts on the replaced accumulator as follows:
(a) Remove the blanking caps from the accumulator (8).
(b) Clean the union and the adapter connections and make sure that they are in good condition.
(c) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-12-03-06-070 O-RINGS (9) or AIPC 29-12-83-08-100 O-RINGS (9) and the new AIPC 29-12-03-06-110 O-RINGS (4) or AIPC 29-12-83-08-080 O-RINGS (4) and all threads with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
(d) Install the O-ring (9) on the removed union (10).
(e) Install the union (10) and TORQUE it to between 6.827 and 6.258 m.daN (50.35 and 46.15 lbf.ft )
. (f) Install the O-ring (4) on the removed adapter (3).
(g) Install the adapter (3) together with the air pressure gage (1) and the charging valve (2).
(h) TORQUE the adapter (3) to between 1.19 and 1.08 m.daN (105.31 and 95.58 lbf.in )
. (i) Safety the adapter (3) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)..

(d) Install the O-ring (9) on the removed union (10).
(e) Install the union (10) and TORQUE it to between 14.24 and 14.0 m.daN (105.01 and 103.24 lbf.ft )

(f) Install the O-ring (4) on the removed adapter (3).
(g) Install the adapter (3) together with the air pressure gage (1) and the charging valve (2).
(h) TORQUE the adapter (3) to between 3.44 and 3.34 m.daN (25.37 and 24.63 lbf.ft )
.
(i) TORQUE the pressure gage (1) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
.
(j) TORQUE the charging valve (2) to between 3.44 and 3.34 m.daN (25.37 and 24.63 lbf.ft )
.
(k) Safety the adapter (3) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)..
Subtask 29-12-42-420-050-A WARNING:

(d) Remove the O-ring (4) from the accumulator (8).
(e) Discard the O-rings (4) and (9).
(2) Install the removed parts on the replaced accumulator as follows:
(a) Remove the blanking caps from the accumulator (8).
(b) Clean the union and the adapter connections and make sure that they are in good condition.
(c) Lubricate the new AIPC 29-12-03-06-070 O-RINGS (9) or AIPC 29-12-83-08-100 O-RINGS (9) and the new AIPC 29-12-03-06-110 O-RINGS (4) or AIPC 29-12-83-08-080 O-RINGS (4) and all threads with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
(d) Install the O-ring (9) on the removed union (10).
(e) Install the union (10) and TORQUE it to between 14.24 and 14.0 m.daN (105.01 and 103.24 lbf.ft )
. (f) Install the O-ring (4) on the removed adapter (3).
(g) Install the adapter (3) together with the air pressure gage (1) and the charging valve (2).
(h) TORQUE the adapter (3) to between 3.44 and 3.34 m.daN (25.37 and 24.63 lbf.ft )
. (i) TORQUE the pressure gage (1) to between 1.7 and 1.5 m.daN (12.54 and 11.06 lbf.ft )
. (j) TORQUE the charging valve (2) to between 3.44 and 3.34 m.daN (25.37 and 24.63 lbf.ft )
. (k) Safety the adapter (3) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel 0.8 mm (0.032 in.)..
B. Installation of the Accumulator
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove all blanking caps.
(4) Put the accumulator assembly in its mounting and install the nut (11).
(6) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(7) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the thread of the line end fitting.
(8) Install the hydraulic line free of stress with the union nut (12) on the union (10).
(9) TORQUE the union nut (12) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
.
Subtask 29-12-42-790-050-A CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO APPLY COUNTERTORQUE TO THE UNION WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT HYDRAULIC LINES ON UNIONS. IF YOU DO NOT USE THE SECOND WRENCH, THERE IS A RISK THAT YOU WILL LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE UNION TOO MUCH.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Remove all blanking caps.
(4) Put the accumulator assembly in its mounting and install the nut (11).
NOTE: Install the accumulator assembly so that you can easily read the pressure gage and you have good access to the charging valve.
(5) Install the clamps (5) and tighten the screws. (6) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
(7) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the thread of the line end fitting.
(8) Install the hydraulic line free of stress with the union nut (12) on the union (10).
(9) TORQUE the union nut (12) to between 8.3 and 7.5 m.daN (61.21 and 55.31 lbf.ft )
. C. Test
(1) Fill the accumulator with nitrogen (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-29-614-001).
(2) Remove the warning notices from the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system and from the cockpit.
(3) Pressurize the hydraulic reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(4) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(5) Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003)
(6) Examine the accumulator connections and make sure that there are no hydraulic fluid or nitrogen leaks.
(7) Make sure that the pressure gage (1) shows 3000 +100 -100 psi.
(8) Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(9) Do the bleeding procedure of the Blue hydraulic system downstream of the Blue E-pump (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-870-009).
5. Close-up(1) Fill the accumulator with nitrogen (Ref. AMM TASK 12-14-29-614-001).
(2) Remove the warning notices from the ground service panel of the Blue hydraulic system and from the cockpit.
(3) Pressurize the hydraulic reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(4) Make sure that the fluid level in the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
(5) Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003)
(6) Examine the accumulator connections and make sure that there are no hydraulic fluid or nitrogen leaks.
(7) Make sure that the pressure gage (1) shows 3000 +100 -100 psi.
(8) Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(9) Do the bleeding procedure of the Blue hydraulic system downstream of the Blue E-pump (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-870-009).
NOTE: When you do the bleeding procedure, nitrogen, which has gone into the hydraulic system from the defective accumulator, is removed.
