WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) You must obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002) when you do work on the hydraulic system.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the slats.
   (4) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Blue hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) is in position.
   (4) Make sure the the access panels 522SB and/or 622SB are removed.
   (5) Make sure that the slat/flaps are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).
   (6) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS or 98D27803500002 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.

4. Procedure
Subtask 29-12-37-420-054-A
A. Preparation for Installation
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Remove the blanking caps from the hydraulic line ends.

B. Installation of the Check Valve
   (1) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) to the threads of the check valve (4) and the coupling nuts (1), (3) and (5).
   (2) Attach the check valve (4) to the coupling nut (5).
   (3) Install the pipe (2) and the coupling nuts (1) and (3).
   (4) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS or 98D27803500002 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (1) Do an operational test of the slat WTB (Ref. AMM TASK 27-81-00-710-001).
   (2) Make sure the check valve (4) and the coupling nuts (1), (3) and (5) do not leak.

E. Removal of the Equipment
   (1) Install the safety collar on the circuit breakers 9CV and 11CV.
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
