A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Blue hydraulic system.
   (4) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flaps.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Extend the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (2) Make sure the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is on the flap/slat control lever on panel 114VU.
   (3) Remove the safety collar from the circuit breakers 10CV and 12CV.
   (4) Extend the No.3 spoiler for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
   (5) Put the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER on the piston rod of the servo-control.

D. Depressurize the Applicable Hydraulic System
   (1) Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (2) Depressurize the Blue hydraulic-system reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

E. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable access panel.
   (2) Remove the applicable access panel:
     (a) FOR [2170GM] (CHECK VALVE-FLAP WTB B RETURN, L WING)
remove 575DB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-004)
     (b) FOR [2405GM] (CHECK VALVE-FLAP WTB B RETURN, R WING)
remove 675DB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-51-37-000-004).
   (3) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the applicable check valve.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-12-37-020-052-B
A. Removal of the Check Valve
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
   (1) FOR [2170GM] (CHECK VALVE-FLAP WTB B RETURN, L WING)
     (a) Disconnect the coupling nuts (3) and (5) and remove the pipe (4).
     (b) Remove the check valve (2) from the coupling nut (1).
   (2) FOR [2405GM] (CHECK VALVE-FLAP WTB B RETURN, R WING)
     (a) Cut, remove and discard the tie-wrap (6) then remove the support plug (7).
     (b) Remove the nuts (8), the spring washers (9), the sleeves (10), the bolts (12) and the clamp (11).
     (c) Disconnect the coupling nuts (3) and (5) and remove the pipe (4).
     (d) Remove the check valve (2) from the coupling nut (1).
     (e) For 2170GM and 2405GM:
       1 Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
       2 Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) and correctly dispose of the hydraulic fluid.
