WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) You must obey the hydraulic safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002) when you do work on the hydraulic system.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the green hydraulic system.
   (3) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in below the zone 574.
   (5) Make sure that the access panel 574AB is open.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the PTU is disconnected (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is in below the zone 574.
   (5) Make sure that the access panel 574AB is removed.
   (6) Make sure that the container is below the access panel opening.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-47-420-051-A
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Make sure that the hydraulic line end-fittings are serviceable.
   (3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (4) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the Compensated Slide
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
   (1) Remove the blanking plugs from the nut (2) and the fire shut-off valve (5).
   (2) Put the compensated slide (1) in position.
NOTE: You can compress or extend the compensated slide to make it fit correctly.
   (3) Hold the nut (3) then connect and loosely tighten the nut (2).
   (4) Connect and loosely tighten the nut (4) to the fire shut-off valve (5).
   (5) TORQUE the nut (2) and the nut (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).

B. Installation of the Compensated Slide
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE FLUID DOES NOT STAY ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE. IF THE FLUID GETS ON THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE, WASH IT OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH SOAP AND WATER.
   (1) Remove the blanking plugs from the nut (2) and the fire shut-off valve (5).
   (2) Put the compensated slide (1) in position. Connect and loosely tighten the nut (2).
   (3) Connect and loosely tighten the nut (4) to the fire shut-off valve (5).
   (4) Set the compensated slide (1) to 20 mm (0.79 in.) (- 3 mm (0.12 in.) + 3 mm (0.12 in.)).
   (5) TORQUE the nut (2) and the nut (4) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-12-911-001).

C. Aircraft Configuration
   (1) Connect the Isolation Coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-002).

D. Fill the Green Hydraulic System Reservoir
   (1) Fill the Green Hydraulic system reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).

E. Pressurize the Applicable Hydraulic System
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Pressurize the Green Hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).

F. Do a Leak Check
   (1) Examine the hydraulic connections of the compensated slide (1) for leaks.
5. Close-up
Subtask 29-11-47-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Depressurize the applicable hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) Remove the container from below the compensated slide (1).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the access panel 574AB.
Subtask 29-11-47-410-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Depressurize the applicable hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Install the access panel 574AB.

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the container.
   (2) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
