Subtask 29-11-45-941-050-A
A. Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not the pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit on the hydraulic section 40VU of the overhead panel,
  • on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
Subtask 29-11-45-860-050-A
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the hydraulic safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-910-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized and put it in the maintenance configuration.
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
   (3) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Open one of the main doors of the main gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (5) Disconnect the isolation coupling of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-860-001).
   (6) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position.
   (7) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) below the filter to collect any hydraulic fluid.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-45-020-050-A
A. Removal of the Filter Element
   (1) Cut and remove the lockwire between the filter bowl (3) and the filter head (1).
   (2) Remove the filter bowl (3) together with the filter element (2).
   (3) Remove the filter element (2) from the filter bowl (3). Discard the filter element (2).
NOTE: It is possible that the filter element (2) will stay in the filter head (1). If it does, pull it out.
   (4) Examine the filter element in order to find the causes of contamination:
If you find metal particles in the filter element you must check the associated hydraulic system after operation of the engine pump in possible cavitation condition (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006).
Subtask 29-11-45-560-050-A
B. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Do a check of the correct condition and installation of the O-ring (5).
NOTE: The O-ring (5) is part of the filter element (2).
   (2) Lubricate the O-ring (5) of the new AIPC 29-11-45-01-020 FILTER ELEMENT (2) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
   (3) Lubricate the threads of the filter bowl (3) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
   (4) If the red clogging indicator (4) is out, push it in to set it again.
Subtask 29-11-45-420-050-A
C. Installation of the Filter Element
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Do a check of the filter element (2) and make sure that it is clean and not damaged.
   (4) Install the new filter element (2), together with its O-ring (5) in the filter bowl (3).
   (5) Engage the filter bowl (3) in the filter head (1) and tighten it with your hands.
NOTE: If it is not possible to tighten the filter bowl (3), caught pressure upstream of the filter bowl may be the cause. Connect a ALT29000001 HYD GRND PWR UNIT3000 to the aircraft connectors 1006GM and 1008GM to release this pressure.
Subtask 29-11-45-942-050-A
