Servicing of the Engine-Pump Case-Drain Filter
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

and put them in the maintenance configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-002).
(2) Depressurize the related hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
B. Safety Precautions
(1) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic system:
(3) Make sure that the related engine 1(2) is stopped for at least 5 minutes.
(4) On the panel 50VU:
Subtask 29-11-43-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the hydraulic system:
- on the panel 40VU, in the cockpit,
- on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system, access door 197CB,
- on the access door 195BB of the Green hydraulic reservoir.
(3) Make sure that the related engine 1(2) is stopped for at least 5 minutes.
(4) On the panel 50VU:
- make sure that the ON legend of the related ENG FADEC PWR pushbutton switch is off,
- put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tells persons not to supply power to the FADEC system.
- make sure that the related ENG MASTER switch is in the OFF position.
C. Get Access
(1) Open the left fan-cowl door 437AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

A. Removal of the Filter Element
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire between the case (10) and the filter head.
(2) Remove the case (10) together with the filter element (5) from the filter head.
(3) Remove and discard the filter elememt (5) from the case (10).
(4) Examine the filter element in order to find the causes of contamination.
If you find metal particles in the filter element you must check the associated hydraulic system after operation in the engine pump in possible cavitation condition. (Ref. AMM TASK 29-00-00-280-006)
