Removal of the Engine-Pump Case-Drain Filter Assembly
WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).

(2) Depressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
(a) On the ground service panel, put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(4) Open access door 195BB.
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
Subtask 29-11-43-010-072-A (1) On AIR COND panel 30VU:
- Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend off).
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the APU BLEED pushbutton switch.
(a) On the ground service panel, put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(3) On the HYD section of panel 40VU:
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(4) Open access door 195BB.
(a) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
(5) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
- Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
- Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
- Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
- Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
- Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

A. Removal of the Case-Drain Filter Assembly
(2) Hold the union (7) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the case drain hose (6).
(3) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the case drain hose (6) into the container.
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Remove the union (7) from the filter assembly (8).
(6) Remove and discard the seal (5).
(7) Hold the union (2) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the case drain tube (1).
(8) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the case drain tube (1) into the container.
(9) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(10) Remove the union (2) from the filter assembly (8).
(11) Remove and discard the seal (3).
(12) Put CAP - PROTECTION on the ports of the filter assembly (8).
(13) Remove the four bolts (4) that attach the filter assembly (8) to the filter case-drain bracket (9).
(14) Remove the filter assembly (8) from the filter case-drain bracket (9).
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the filter assembly (8). - ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
(2) Hold the union (7) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the case drain hose (6).
(3) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the case drain hose (6) into the container.
(4) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(5) Remove the union (7) from the filter assembly (8).
(6) Remove and discard the seal (5).
(7) Hold the union (2) with a WRENCH - STANDARD and disconnect the case drain tube (1).
(8) Drain the hydraulic fluid from the case drain tube (1) into the container.
(9) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(10) Remove the union (2) from the filter assembly (8).
(11) Remove and discard the seal (3).
(12) Put CAP - PROTECTION on the ports of the filter assembly (8).
(13) Remove the four bolts (4) that attach the filter assembly (8) to the filter case-drain bracket (9).
(14) Remove the filter assembly (8) from the filter case-drain bracket (9).
