Removal of the Engine-Pump Case-Drain Filter

DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.

DO NOT GET HYDRAULIC FLUID ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR EYES OR IN YOUR MOUTH. HYDRAULIC FLUID IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY. FLUSH HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM YOUR EYES, MOUTH OR SKIN WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOU GET HYDRAULIC FLUID IN YOUR EYES OR MOUTH.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Depressurize the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:

(2) Depressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- on the ground service panel 197CB.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:

(6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the case drain filter.
Subtask 29-11-43-010-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
- put WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
- in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
- make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(6) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the case drain filter.
C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan-cowl doors 437AL/438AR (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at the engine.
Subtask 29-11-43-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Case-Drain Filter Assembly
(1) Remove the bolt (12) from the bracket (11) and the clip (13).
(2) Put a clean CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) in position to catch the drained hydraulic fluid.
(3) Make a note of the position of these parts, they must be put in the same position during installation:
(a) The case drain filter (10).
(b) The seals (1) and (4).
(c) The unions (2) and (5).
(d) The bolts (7) and (9).
(e) The bracket (8).
(4) Hold the union (5) with an applicable wrench and disconnect the connector nut (6).
(5) Let the hydraulic fluid drain into the container.
(6) Hold the union (2) with an applicable wrench and disconnect the connector nut (3).
(7) Remove the two bolts (7) which attach the bracket (8) and the case drain filter (10) to the bracket (11).
(8) Hold the case drain filter (10) and remove the two bolts (9) which attach the case drain filter (10) to the bracket (11).
(9) Remove the case drain filter (10) from the engine.
(10) Remove the container and discard the drained hydraulic fluid.
Subtask 29-11-43-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the bolt (12) from the bracket (11) and the clip (13).

(7) Remove the two bolts (7) which attach the bracket (8) and the case drain filter (10) to the bracket (11).
(8) Hold the case drain filter (10) and remove the two bolts (9) which attach the case drain filter (10) to the bracket (11).
(9) Remove the case drain filter (10) from the engine.
(10) Remove the container and discard the drained hydraulic fluid.
B. Removal of the Unions
(1) Remove the unions (2) and (5) from the case drain filter (10).
(2) Remove and discard the seals (1) and (4).
(3) Install the applicable COVER - BLANKING to all the openings.

(2) Remove and discard the seals (1) and (4).
(3) Install the applicable COVER - BLANKING to all the openings.
