3. Job Set-up

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) On the ground service panel 197CB:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1 shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) In the cockpit, on the HYD section of the HYD/FUEL panel 40VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (5) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is in position below the hydraulic tube connection to the switch to collect the hydraulic fluid.

   (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at door 437AL.
   (2) Make sure that the left fan cowl door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

D. Hydraulic Pressurization
   (1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (2) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
Subtask 29-11-38-710-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
E. Test
   (1) Do an operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
   (2) During the dry motoring, make sure that there are no leaks from the connections.
   (3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
NOTE: There must be between 14 and 16 liters of hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir. If not, the level of the fluid can decrease too much if the bleeding is not correct.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Close the left fan-cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
     (a) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
   (5) Close access door 195BB.
