WARNING:
OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

Engine 1 Pump-Suction Self-Sealing CouplingSubtask 29-11-38-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) On ground service panel 197CB, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.
(5) Make sure that there is a COVER - BLANKING on the adapter assembly (10) (suction hose side).
Subtask 29-11-38-941-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
(2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
(3) On ground service panel 197CB, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position on access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.
(5) Make sure that there is a COVER - BLANKING on the adapter assembly (10) (suction hose side).
NOTE: The COVER - BLANKING prevents the flow of hydraulic fluid when the adapter assembly (10) is connected to the pump union.
B. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On ground service panel 197CB, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
(4) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(6) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the hydraulic tube connection to the switch to collect the remaining fluid.
4. Procedure(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On ground service panel 197CB, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.

Subtask 29-11-38-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Self Sealing Coupling of the Engine-1 Pump Suction
(1) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the hydraulic pump union.
(2) Install the adapter assembly (10) on the hydraulic pump:
(a) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN )

(3) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the lower end of the suction hose and the adapter assembly (10).
(4) Connect the suction hose to the adapter assembly (10):
(a) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN ).
(5) Connect the hose coupling half to the fluid disconnect panel and tighten the coupling nut with your hand.
(6) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN ).
Subtask 29-11-38-870-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the hydraulic pump union.
(2) Install the adapter assembly (10) on the hydraulic pump:
(a) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN )
.(3) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the lower end of the suction hose and the adapter assembly (10).
(4) Connect the suction hose to the adapter assembly (10):
(a) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN )
.(5) Connect the hose coupling half to the fluid disconnect panel and tighten the coupling nut with your hand.
(6) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 900 and 800 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.04 m.daN )
.B. Bleeding
(1) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the connection between the suction hose coupling and the fluid disconnect panel.
(2) Put the absorbent paper on the hose coupling nut.
(3) On the connection between the hose coupling half and the suction hose:
(a) Lightly loosen the upper end of the suction hose from its coupling half with two wrenches.
(4) Let the hydraulic fluid flow from the disconnected connection into the container until there are no air bubbles.
(5) When you complete the bleeding:
(a) TORQUE the hose coupling nut to between 1150 and 1000 lbf.in (13.00 and 11.30 m.daN ).
(6) Remove and discard the absorbent paper.
Subtask 29-11-38-863-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the connection between the suction hose coupling and the fluid disconnect panel.
(2) Put the absorbent paper on the hose coupling nut.
(3) On the connection between the hose coupling half and the suction hose:
(a) Lightly loosen the upper end of the suction hose from its coupling half with two wrenches.
(4) Let the hydraulic fluid flow from the disconnected connection into the container until there are no air bubbles.
(5) When you complete the bleeding:
(a) TORQUE the hose coupling nut to between 1150 and 1000 lbf.in (13.00 and 11.30 m.daN )
.(6) Remove and discard the absorbent paper.
C. Hydraulic Pressurization
(1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
Subtask 29-11-38-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
D. Test
(1) Do an operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001)
(2) During the dry motoring, make sure that there are no leaks from the connections.
(3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
5. Close-up(1) Do an operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001)
(2) During the dry motoring, make sure that there are no leaks from the connections.
(3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).
NOTE: There must be between 14 and 16 liters of hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir. This prevents a drop in the level of the fluid if the bleeding is not correct.

A. Remove the Safety Precautions
(1) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
