Installation of the Engine-Pump Pressure Switch


WARNING: OBEY THE HYDRAULIC SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS STAY HOT FOR SOME TIME AND CAN CAUSE INJURY.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED HYDRAULIC FLUID MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
   (2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (3) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 197CB.
   (5) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
  • Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) In the cockpit, on the HYD section of overhead panel 40VU:
  • Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system.
   (4) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Make sure that a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is below the hydraulic tube connection of the pressure switch to collect the hydraulic fluid.

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the left fan-cowl door is open:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
make sure that the door 437AL is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at the engine.
4. Procedure

B. Installation of the Engine-Pump Pressure Switch
F Engine Pump Pressure Switch ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

POST SB RA32071-20

   (1) Apply Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) on the new packing (8).
   (2) Install the new AIPC 29-11-17-01-060 PACKING (8) on the pressure switch (4).
   (3) Remove the COVER - BLANKING from the hydraulic tube.
   (4) Install the pressure switch (4) on the hydraulic tube reducer and its bracket.
   (5) Hold the reducer with a WRENCH - STANDARD and TORQUE the pressure switch (4) to between 405 and 380 lbf.in (4.58 and 4.29 m.daN )
T.
   (6) Install the pressure switch (4) on bracket with the clamp (3), screws (5), washers (2) and nuts (1).
   (7) TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.
   (8) Attach the bonding jumper (9) to the bonding clamp on the pressure switch (4) with the screw (6), washers (7) and (10), and nut (11).
   (9) TORQUE the nut (11) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.
   (10) Attach the other end of the bonding jumper (9) to ground stud 9951DC on the ground plate with the fasteners retained during removal.
   (11) TORQUE the nuts to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )
T.
   (12) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connector 1074GK-A.
   (13) Connect electrical connector 1074GK-A to the pressure switch (4) and tighten it with your hand plus one-eighth of a turn.
   (14) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).

D. Test
   (1) Do an operational test of the Green hydraulic system (
Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
   (2) During the dry motoring, make sure that there are no leaks from the LP pressure switch of the Green pump.
   (3) Make sure that the level of the hydraulic fluid in the Green reservoir is correct. If necessary, fill the reservoir (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001).

   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).

B. Close Access
   (1) Close the left fan cowl door:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
close the door 437AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040)
   (2) Close the door 195BB.

C. Remove the Safety Precautions
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
