Installation of the Engine Pump Pressure Switch

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 29-11-17-860-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the Green hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001).
   (2) Make sure that the Green hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • on the ground service panel 197CB.
   (4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is on the access door 195BB to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic reservoir.

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
  • make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the Green hydraulic system:
  • in the cockpit, on the HYD section of the overhead panel 40VU.
   (4) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
  • make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
   (5) Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (6) Make sure that the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) is below the hydraulic tube connection to the pressure switch to catch the remaining fluid.
   (7) Remove the covers, caps, plugs from the adapter, the pressure switch and the electrical connector.

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the left fan cowl is open:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
make sure that the door 437AL is open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010).
   (2) Make sure that the access platform is in position at the zone 400.
4. Procedure
Subtask 29-11-17-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Engine Pump Pressure Switch
   (1) Clean the replacement parts and their interfaces:
     (a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with cleaning fluid (Material No.V01-002) , to clean the adapter (1), the pressure switch (3) and the electrical connector (4).
   (2) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to remove the dirty cleaning fluid from the parts while they are wet.
   (3) Examine the replacement parts and their interfaces. Make sure that they have no damage.
   (4) Install the pressure switch (3):
     (a) Lubricate a new AIPC 29-11-17-80-020 PACKING (2) and the threads of the pressure switch (3) with Phosphate Ester Hydraulic Fluid-General Power - - (Material No.02ABA1) .
     (b) Put the packing (2) on to the pressure switch (3) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-13-911-010) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-30-00-918-010).
     (c) Install the pressure switch (3), with the packing (2), into the adapter (1).
     (d) Put the P-clip (7) around the pressure switch (3) in the correct position for installation.
     (e) Attach the P-clip (7) to the clipnut (10), on the bracket (9), with the bolt (8). Tighten the bolt (8) with your hand.
     (f) Hold the adapter (1) with an applicable wrench and TORQUE the pressure switch (3) to between 405 and 380 lbf.in (4.58 and 4.29 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
     (g) Safety the pressure switch (3) to the nearest anchor tab (5) with lockwire (Material No.V02-147) (6).
     (h) TORQUE the bolt (8) to between 44 and 36 lbf.in (0.50 and 0.41 m.daN ) T.
     (i) Connect the electrical connector (4) to the pressure switch (3) (
Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).
   (5) Remove the container from below the pressure switch and discard the drained hydraulic fluid.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test
   (1) Do an operational test of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-11-00-710-001).
   (2) During the Dry Motoring, make sure that there are no leaks from the pressure switch.
5. Close-up

A. Remove the safety precautions
   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. Close Access
   (1) Close the left fan cowl:
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
close the door 437AL (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
   (2) Close the door 195BB.
