(Ref. AMM TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
   (4) On the ECAM control panel, push the HYD key. Make sure that the HYD page comes into view on the ECAM lower display unit (DU).
   (5) Make sure that the ECAM system shows none of these conditions:
  • Low air pressure in the reservoirs of the Green, Blue or Yellow hydraulic systems
  • Low fluid contents in the reservoirs of the Green, Blue or Yellow hydraulic systems.
   (6) If necessary, pressurize the reservoir(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
   (7) If necessary, add fluid to the reservoir(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
   (8) On the overhead panel 40VU, push and release the PTU P/BSW. Make sure that the OFF light comes on.
   (9) Connect a hydraulic ground supply to the connections on the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
A. Do this test:
ACTION
RESULT
1.On the hydraulic ground supply:
  • Pressurize the Green hydraulic system to 125 bar (1800 psi).
2.On the overhead panel 40VU:
  • Push the PTU P/BSW.
On the overhead panel 40VU:
  • The PTU P/BSW OFF light goes off.
In the main landing gear compartment:
  • The PTU does not operate, because the priority valve closes at 130 +0 -3 bar (1885 +0 -43.5 psi).
On the lower ECAM DU:
  • The pressure in the Green hydraulic system is 125 bar (1800 psi).
On the Yellow hydraulic reservoir:
  • The pressure in the Yellow hydraulic system is 3.5 bar (51 psi) (Reservoir Pressure).
3.On the hydraulic ground supply:
  • Slowly increase the supply pressure to the Green hydraulic system to 160 bar (2325 psi).
In the main landing gear compartment:
  • The PTU starts to operate, because the priority valve opens at 140 +0 -5 bar (2030 +0 -72.5 psi).
On the lower ECAM DU:
  • The pressure in the Green hydraulic system is approximately 160 bar (2325 psi).
  • The pressure in the Yellow hydraulic system is no more than 14 bar (200 psi) less than the pressure in the Green hydraulic system.
4.On the hydraulic ground supply:
  • Slowly decrease the supply pressure to the Green hydraulic system to 125 bar (1800 psi).
In the main landing gear compartment:
  • The PTU stops when the priority valve closes (between 144 bar and 127 bar (2088 psi and 1842 psi)).
5.On the hydraulic ground supply:
In the main landing gear compartment:
  • The PTU does not operate, because the priority valve closes at 130 +0 -3 bar (1885 +0 -43.5 psi).
6.On the hydraulic ground supply:
  • Disconnect the hydraulic ground supply from the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system
  • Connect the hydraulic ground supply to the connections on the ground service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-002).
