A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACTs are completely drained from fuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(4) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, on fuel control panel 40VU and ACT control panel 28VU:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system.
(5) FOR [61QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT2), [62QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT2)
(a) Make sure that the ACT AFT2 is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003).
(6) FOR [61QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT1), [62QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT1)
(a) Make sure that the ACT AFT1 is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-002).
4. Procedure(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that the ACTs are completely drained from fuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(4) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, on fuel control panel 40VU and ACT control panel 28VU:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system.
(5) FOR [61QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT2), [62QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT2)
(a) Make sure that the ACT AFT2 is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003).
(6) FOR [61QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT1), [62QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT1)
(a) Make sure that the ACT AFT1 is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-002).
Subtask 28-46-18-420-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the ACT Fuel-Level Sensors
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Prepare the equipment for electrical bonding as follows:
(a) Make sure that the bonding points are in the correct condition (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(5) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the disconnected tank openings.
(6) Apply a layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 28-42-84-01-175 ORING (6) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-280 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-42-84-01-185 ORING (7) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-290 O-RING (7).
(7) Install the new O-rings (6) and (7) in the groove of the level sensor (1).
(8) Put the level sensor (1) in the correct installation position:
(a) Make sure that the O-rings (6) and (7) stay in the groove of the level sensor.
(9) Install the new AIPC 28-42-84-01-145 WASHER (4) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-195 SEALING RINGS (4) in position.
(10) Install the bonding strap (5) and the nuts (3) on the level sensor (1).
(11) TORQUE the nuts (3) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(12) Do the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(13) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(14) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 28-46-18-410-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The installation procedure for each sensor is the same.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Prepare the equipment for electrical bonding as follows:
(a) Make sure that the bonding points are in the correct condition (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(5) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the disconnected tank openings.

(8) Put the level sensor (1) in the correct installation position:
(a) Make sure that the O-rings (6) and (7) stay in the groove of the level sensor.

CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE BONDING STRAP(S) IS(ARE) CONNECTED BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU CONNECT THEM. SOLID AND/OR LIQUID CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS AND THUS CAUSE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT DEFECTS.
(15) Connect the electrical connector (2) to the level sensor (1). B. Close Access
(1) FOR [61QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT1), [62QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT1)
(a) Install the ACT AFT1 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-002).
(2) FOR [61QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT2), [62QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT2)
(a) Install the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-400-003).

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, fuel control panel 40VU and ACT control panel 28VU:
(a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, fuel control panel 40VU and ACT control panel 28VU:
(a) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
