Removal of the Sensor-ACT Fuel High Level

IF YOU GET FUEL ON YOUR SKIN OR ON YOUR CLOTHES, FLUSH IT IMMEDIATELY WITH WATER.
IF NECESSARY, GET MEDICAL HELP.
AIRCRAFT FUEL IS POISONOUS.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Move the fuel from each applicable Additional Center Tank (ACT) to the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(4) Drain the remaining fuel from each applicable ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(5) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, on fuel control panel 40VU and on ACT control panel 28VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system.
Subtask 28-46-18-010-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Move the fuel from each applicable Additional Center Tank (ACT) to the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(4) Drain the remaining fuel from each applicable ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(5) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, on fuel control panel 40VU and on ACT control panel 28VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system.
B. Get Access
(Ref. AMM D/O 28-46-00-00).
(2) FOR [61QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT2), [62QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT2)
(a) Remove the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003).
(3) FOR [61QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT1), [62QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT1)
(a) Remove the ACT AFT1 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-002).
4. ProcedureNOTE: To get access to the sensors, it is necessary to remove the applicable ACT.
(1) For the location of this component, refer to paragraph Component Location(Ref. AMM D/O 28-46-00-00).
(2) FOR [61QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT2), [62QJ2] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT2)
(a) Remove the ACT AFT2 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-003).
(3) FOR [61QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO1, ACT1), [62QJ1] (SENSOR-HIGH LEVEL NO2, ACT1)
(a) Remove the ACT AFT1 (Ref. AMM TASK 28-11-27-000-002).
Subtask 28-46-18-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Sensor High Level
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the sealant from the nuts (3).
(4) Remove the nuts (3).
(5) Remove and discard the sealing rings (4).
(7) Remove the level sensor (1) from the ACT (8).
(8) Remove and discard the O-rings (6) and (7).
(9) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected tank openings.
NOTE: The removal procedure for each sensor is the same.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the level sensor (1). (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the sealant from the nuts (3).
(4) Remove the nuts (3).
(5) Remove and discard the sealing rings (4).
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S) IS(ARE) DISCONNECTED BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE BONDING STRAP(S).
(6) Remove the bonding strap (5) from the level sensor (1). (7) Remove the level sensor (1) from the ACT (8).
(8) Remove and discard the O-rings (6) and (7).
(9) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected tank openings.
