Installation of the Temperature Sensor
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
Subtask 28-46-17-860-050-A WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank. (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable access panel 540AB (640AB).
(4) Make sure that the applicable access panel 540AB (640AB) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
Subtask 28-46-17-865-052-A (1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable access panel 540AB (640AB).
(4) Make sure that the applicable access panel 540AB (640AB) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001).
C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
Subtask 28-46-17-420-052-A (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
B. Installation of the Temperature Sensor 29QJ1 (29QJ2)
(1) Install the sensor (8) with the bolts (3) and (6) and the washers (2) and (7).
(2) TORQUE the bolt (3) to between .28 and .225 m.daN (24.78 and 19.91 lbf.in )
.
(3) TORQUE the bolt (6) to between .56 and .45 m.daN (49.56 and 39.82 lbf.in ).
(4) Apply Coating Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06HAA1) to the bolts (3) and (6).
(5) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(6) Connect the electrical connectors of the cable (1) with the connector screws (4) and (5).
(7) TORQUE the connector screw (4) to between 0.124 and 0.102 m.daN (10.97 and 9.03 lbf.in ).
(8) TORQUE the connector screw (5) to between 0.226 and 0.204 m.daN (20.00 and 18.05 lbf.in ).
(9) Install the cable (1) in the cable clamp with the cable clamp screw (9).
(10) TORQUE the cable clamp screw (9) to between 0.067 and 0.034 m.daN (5.93 and 3.01 lbf.in ).
Subtask 28-46-17-865-053-A (1) Install the sensor (8) with the bolts (3) and (6) and the washers (2) and (7).
(2) TORQUE the bolt (3) to between .28 and .225 m.daN (24.78 and 19.91 lbf.in )
. (3) TORQUE the bolt (6) to between .56 and .45 m.daN (49.56 and 39.82 lbf.in )
. (4) Apply Coating Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06HAA1) to the bolts (3) and (6).
(5) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(6) Connect the electrical connectors of the cable (1) with the connector screws (4) and (5).
(7) TORQUE the connector screw (4) to between 0.124 and 0.102 m.daN (10.97 and 9.03 lbf.in )
. (8) TORQUE the connector screw (5) to between 0.226 and 0.204 m.daN (20.00 and 18.05 lbf.in )
. (9) Install the cable (1) in the cable clamp with the cable clamp screw (9).
(10) TORQUE the cable clamp screw (9) to between 0.067 and 0.034 m.daN (5.93 and 3.01 lbf.in )
. C. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access panel 540AB (640AB) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):
(a) FOR [29QJ1] (SENSOR-TEMP, LEFT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A or SENSOR-TEMP, LEFT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A)
install 540AB
(b) FOR [29QJ2] (SENSOR-TEMP, RIGHT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A or SENSOR-TEMP, RIGHT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A)
install 640AB.
Subtask 28-46-17-650-054-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access panel 540AB (640AB) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):
(a) FOR [29QJ1] (SENSOR-TEMP, LEFT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A or SENSOR-TEMP, LEFT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A)
install 540AB
(b) FOR [29QJ2] (SENSOR-TEMP, RIGHT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A or SENSOR-TEMP, RIGHT WING TK INNER CHANNEL A)
install 640AB.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel, defuel or transfer fuel as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).

C. Removal of Equipment

(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
