A. Safety Precautions
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-43-22-650-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 28-43-22-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel 540QB (640QB).
(2) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(a) FOR [202QM] (HOUSING-MLI NO 7 LEFT)
remove 540QB
(b) FOR [203QM] (HOUSING-MLI NO 7 RIGHT)
remove 640QB.
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel 540QB (640QB).
(2) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
(a) FOR [202QM] (HOUSING-MLI NO 7 LEFT)
remove 540QB
(b) FOR [203QM] (HOUSING-MLI NO 7 RIGHT)
remove 640QB.
Subtask 28-43-22-020-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Magnetic Level-Indicator Assembly 202QM (203QM)
(1) Remove the nuts (3) from the bolts (6).
(2) Remove the bolts (6) from the magnetic level-indicator housing (2).
(3) Remove the magnetic level-indicator assembly (7).
(1) Remove the nuts (3) from the bolts (6).
(2) Remove the bolts (6) from the magnetic level-indicator housing (2).
(3) Remove the magnetic level-indicator assembly (7).
NOTE: If the MLI is removed with a loose or damaged top-stop (8), refer to CMM 284330 for repair instructions.
(4) Remove and discard the O-ring seals (4) and (5).
