A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel 540RB (640RB).
   (2) Remove the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
     (a) FOR [64QM] (HOUSING-MLI, L WING TK OUTR)
remove 540RB
     (b) FOR [65QM] (HOUSING-MLI, R WING TK OUTR)
remove 640RB.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-43-22-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Magnetic Level-Indicator Assembly 64QM (65QM)
   (1) Remove the nuts (3) from the bolts (6).
   (2) Remove the bolts (6) from the magnetic level-indicator housing (2).
   (3) Remove the magnetic level-indicator assembly (7) from the access panel.
NOTE: If the MLI is removed with a loose or damaged top-stop (8), refer to CMM 284330 for repair instructions.
   (4) Remove and discard the O-ring seals (4) and (5).
