BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank. (2) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3) Make sure that the access platform is below the applicable zone 540 (640).
(4) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002):
(a) FOR [13QT1] (HARNESS-CHAN A, L WING TK INR)
Subtask 28-42-43-860-052-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3) Make sure that the access platform is below the applicable zone 540 (640).

(1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3) Make sure that the access platform ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is below the applicable zone 540 (640).
(4) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed:
(a) FOR [13QT1] (HARNESS-CHAN A, L WING TK INR)
Remove 540AB, 540BB, 540DB, 540GB, 540JB, 540KB and 574BB (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002).
(b) FOR [13QT2] (HARNESS-CHAN A, R WING TK INR)
Remove 640AB, 640BB, 640DB, 640GB, 640JB, 640KB and 674BB (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002).
(5) Make sure that the applicable RIB2 access panel 540AZ ( 640AZ) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).
Subtask 28-42-43-865-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).

Remove 640AB, 640BB, 640DB, 640GB, 640JB, 640KB and 674BB (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002).
(5) Make sure that the applicable RIB2 access panel 540AZ ( 640AZ) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-12-000-002).

WARNING:
DO NOT REPAIR CABLES THAT ARE IN FUEL TANKS. DO NOT MAKE IN-LINE SPLICES. IF A CABLE IS DEFECTIVE, YOU MUST REPLACE THE FULL CABLE ASSEMBLY.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE INSTALLATION AND ROUTING OF ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES AGREE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ELECTRICAL STANDARD PRACTICES MANUAL.
Subtask 28-42-43-420-092-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Get access to the opening 540JB(640JB).
(2) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC to remove the sealant from the interface of the connector 4045VC1 (4045VC2) (34) and RIB 15.
(3) Get access to the opening 540BB(640BB).
(4) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC to remove the sealant from the interface of the connector 4039VC1 (4039VC2) (34) and the rear spar.
(5) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
(7) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(8) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(9) Get access to the opening 540BB(640BB)
(10) Identify and attach the ends of the applicable string to the cables for:
Subtask 28-42-43-420-093-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Get access to the opening 540JB(640JB).
(2) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC to remove the sealant from the interface of the connector 4045VC1 (4045VC2) (34) and RIB 15.
(3) Get access to the opening 540BB(640BB).
(4) Use a SPATULA - PLASTIC to remove the sealant from the interface of the connector 4039VC1 (4039VC2) (34) and the rear spar.
(5) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
- the flange and the thread of the connector 4039VC1 (4039VC2) (34)
- the thread of the nut (32)
- the area of the rear spar around the hole for the connector (34)
- the flange and thread of the connector 4045VC1 (4045VC2) (34).
(7) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(8) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(9) Get access to the opening 540BB(640BB)
(10) Identify and attach the ends of the applicable string to the cables for:
- the fuel probes 21QT1 (21QT2), 23QT1 (23QT2), 25QT1 (25QT2), 27QT1 (27QT2), 29QT1 (29QT2) and 31QT1 (31QT2)
- the fuel sensors 16QJ1 (16QJ2), 17QJ1 (17QJ2), 29QJ1 (29QJ2) and 38QJ1 (38QJ2)
- the sensor cadensicon 19QT1 (19QT2)
- the connectors 4039VC1 (4039VC2) and 4045VC1 (4045VC2) (34).
B. Installation of the Wing-Tank Inner-Cell Group A Harness 13QT1 (13QT2)
(1) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) between RIB 2 and RIB 3 as follows:
Electrical Harness 13QT1(13QT2) and 14QT1(14QT2) at RIBS 2, 2/3, 6/7 and 9 - Location and Detail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Get access through the opening 540AB(640AB) and find the string at the end of the conduit.
(b) Use the string to carefully pull the harness 13QT1(13QT2) through the conduit until it comes into view.
(c) Remove and discard the string and the tape from the harness 13QT1(13QT2).
(d) Identify the cable ends for the sensor cadensicon 19QT1(19QT2).
(e) Install the spacer sleeve (6) on the cable.
(f) Use a CRIMPING TOOL 46447 to crimp each correct color terminal connector (2) to its color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(g) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminal block of the sensor cadensicon 19QT1(19QT2).
(h) Put the cable for the sensor cadensicon 19QT1(19QT2) in position.
(i) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the structure with the TIE WRAP (1).
(2) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) at RIB 2 as follows:
(a) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 25QT1(25QT2).
(b) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(c) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 25QT1(25QT2).
(d) Put the cable for the fuel probe 25QT1(25QT2) in position.
(e) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the fuel probe 25QT1(25QT2) body and the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(f) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 23QT1(23QT2).
(g) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(h) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 23QT1(23QT2).
(i) Put the cable for the fuel probe 23QT1(23QT2) in position.
(j) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(k) Identify the cable ends for the sensors 16QJ1(16QJ2), 29QJ1(29QJ2) and 38QJ1(38QJ2).
(l) Connect the applicable cable to the sensors 16QJ1(16QJ2), 29QJ1(29QJ2) and 38QJ1(38QJ2) with the screws (20) and (23).
(m) TORQUE the screw (20) to between 0.226 and 0.204 m.daN (20.00 and 18.05 lbf.in )

(n) TORQUE the screw (23) to between 0.124 and 0.102 m.daN (10.97 and 9.03 lbf.in )
.
(o) Put each cable in the clamp (22) with the screws (21).
(p) TORQUE the screws (21) to between 0.067 and 0.034 m.daN (5.93 and 3.01 lbf.in )
.
(q) Put the cable for the sensors 16QJ1(16QJ2), 29QJ1(29QJ2) and 38QJ1(38QJ2) in position.
(r) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(t) Make a coil of the unwanted cable and use the P clip (3) and the bolt (4) to attach it to the structure.
(3) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) at RIB 1 as follows:
(a) Identify the cable for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2) and put it through the RIB2 in the position shown.
(b) Get access through the opening 540AB(640AB) and the door 540AZ(640AZ) to the RIB1.
(c) Carefully pull the cable for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2) until it reaches the fuel probe.
(d) Remove the tape and the string from the harness 13QT1(13QT2).
(e) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2).
(f) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(g) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2).
(h) Put the cable for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2) in position.
(i) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2) body and the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(j) Get access through the opening 540BB(640BB) to RIB6 and through the openings in RIB4 and RIB5.
(k) Carefully pull the string for the cable for the fuel probe 27QT1(27QT2) until it comes into view at the end of the conduit.
(l) Remove and discard the tape and the string from the harness.
(4) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) at RIB 6 as follows:
Electrical Harness 13QT1(13QT2) and 14QT1(14QT2) at RIBS 6, 13 and 15 and at the Rear Spar - Detail and Location ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 27QT1(27QT2).
(b) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(c) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 27QT1(27QT2).
(d) Put the cable for the fuel probe 27QT1(27QT2) in position.
(e) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the fuel probe 27QT1(27QT2) body and the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(f) Get access through the opening 540CB(640CB) to RIB9.
(g) Carefully pull the string for the cable for the fuel probe 29QT1(29QT2) until the cable comes into view, at the end of the conduit.
(h) Remove and discard the tape and the string from the harness.
(5) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) at RIB 9 as follows:

(a) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 29QT1(29QT2).
(b) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(c) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 29QT1(29QT2).
(d) Put the cable for the fuel probe 29QT1(29QT2) in position.
(e) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the fuel probe 29QT1(29QT2) body and the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(f) Get access through the opening 540GB(640GB) to RIB13.
(g) Carefully pull the string for the cable for the fuel probe 31QT1(31QT2) until the cable comes into view, at the end of the conduit.
(h) Remove and discard the tape and the string from the harness 13QT1 (13QT2)
(6) Install the harness 13QT1 (13Qt2) at RIB 13 as follows:
Electrical Harness 13QT1(13QT2) and 14QT1(14QT2) at RIBS 6, 13 and 15 and at the Rear Spar - Detail and Location ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Electrical Harness 13QT1(13QT2) and 14QT1(14QT2) at RIBS 2, 2/3, 6/7 and 9 - Location and Detail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 31QT1(31QT2).
(b) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(c) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 31QT1(31QT2).
(d) Put the cables for the fuel probe 31QT1(31QT2) in position.
(e) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the fuel probe 31QT1(31QT2) body and the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(f) Identify the cable ends for the sensor 17QJ1(17QJ2).
(g) Connect the cable to the sensor with the screws (20) and (23).
(h) TORQUE the screw (20) to between 0.226 and 0.204 m.daN (20.00 and 18.05 lbf.in )

(i) TORQUE the screw (23) to between 0.124 and 0.102 m.daN (10.97 and 9.03 lbf.in )
.
(j) Put the cables in the clamp (22) with the screws (21).
(k) TORQUE the screws (21) to between 0.067 and 0.034 m.daN (5.93 and 3.01 lbf.in )

(l) Put the cable for the sensor 17QJ1(17QJ2) in position.
(m) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(n) Get access through the opening 540JB(640JB) to RIB14.
(o) Carefully pull the string for the cable for the connector 4045VC1(4045VC2) (34) until the cable comes into view, at the end of the conduit.
(p) Remove and discard the tape and the string from the harness 13QT1 (13QT2).
(q) Use a crimping tool to crimp the wires to the connector pins of the connector (34) ESPM 2048140.
(r) Insert the connector pins into the connector (34) ESPM 2048410.
(s) Tighten the clamp screws (36) of the backshell (35). Make sure that the cable is firmly clamped in the backshell (35).
(t) Safety the clamp screws (36) and the backshell (35) with14QFB1 Wire-Locking Dia: 0.8 mm CRES Nickel Alloy - .
(u) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength - (Material No.05BAA1) to the threads of the connector (34).
(7) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) at RIB 15 as follows:
Electrical Harness 13QT1(13QT2) and 14QT1(14QT2) at RIBS 2, 2/3, 6/7 and 9 - Location and Detail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
Electrical Harness 13QT1(13QT2) and 14QT1(14QT2) at RIBS 6, 13 and 15 and at the Rear Spar - Detail and Location ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(a) Install the new AIPC 28-42-43-01-030 O-RING (30) on the connector (34).
(b) Put the connector (34) in position in the hole in RIB15.
(c) Get access through the opening 540KB(640KB) to RIB15.
(d) Install the washer (31) and the nut (32) on the connector (34).
(e) TORQUE the nut (32) to between 1.07 and 0.96 m.daN (94.69 and 84.96 lbf.in )
.
(f) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to remove unwanted adhesive from the connector (34) and the nut (32).
(g) Safety the nut (32) with the anti-rotation plate (44), the bolts (43) and the nuts (45).

(k) Apply a continuous layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) to the plug connector (33).
(l) Put the cable for the connector 4045VC1(4045VC2) (34) in position.
(m) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(8) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) between RIB 6 and RIB 7 as follows:
(a) Get access through the opening 540BB(640BB) to RIB6 and RIB7.
(b) Carefully pull the string from the cable for the connector 4039VC1(4039VC2) (34) until the cable comes into view at the end of the conduit.
(c) Remove and discard the tape and the string from the harness 13QT1(13QT2).
(d) Use a crimping tool to crimp the wires to the connector pins of the connector (34) ESPM 2048140.
(e) Insert the connector pins into the connector (34) ESPM 2048410.
(f) Tighten the clamp screws (36) of the backshell (35). Make sure that the cable is firmly clamped in the backshell (35).

(d) Remove the tape and the string from the harness 13QT1(13QT2).
(e) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2).
(f) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(g) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2).

(d) Remove the tape and the string from the harness 13QT1(13QT2).

(u) Apply Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength - (Material No.05BAA1) to the threads of the connector (34).

(d) Install the washer (31) and the nut (32) on the connector (34).
(e) TORQUE the nut (32) to between 1.07 and 0.96 m.daN (94.69 and 84.96 lbf.in )

(f) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to remove unwanted adhesive from the connector (34) and the nut (32).
(g) Safety the nut (32) with the anti-rotation plate (44), the bolts (43) and the nuts (45).
(h) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Brushable - (Material No.06ABA1) around the connector (34) to seal it to the rear spar.
(i) Remove the blanking cap and connect the plug connector (33) to the connector (34).
(j) Clean the plug connector (33) with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(k) Apply a continuous layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ACB1) to the plug connector (33).
(l) Put the cable for the connector 4045VC1(4045VC2) (34) in position.
(m) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(8) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) between RIB 6 and RIB 7 as follows:
(a) Get access through the opening 540BB(640BB) to RIB6 and RIB7.
(b) Carefully pull the string from the cable for the connector 4039VC1(4039VC2) (34) until the cable comes into view at the end of the conduit.
(c) Remove and discard the tape and the string from the harness 13QT1(13QT2).
(d) Use a crimping tool to crimp the wires to the connector pins of the connector (34) ESPM 2048140.

(l) Attach the harness to the structure with the P clip (3), the bolt (4) and the AIPC 28-42-05-20-010 CABLE-TIES (1) or AIPC 28-42-85-21-010 CABLE-TIES (1).

(d) Put the cable for the fuel probe 25QT1(25QT2) in position.
(e) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the fuel probe 25QT1(25QT2) body and the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(f) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 23QT1(23QT2).
(g) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(h) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 23QT1(23QT2).
(i) Put the cable for the fuel probe 23QT1(23QT2) in position.

(m) TORQUE the screw (20) to between 0.226 and 0.204 m.daN (20.00 and 18.05 lbf.in )
. (n) TORQUE the screw (23) to between 0.124 and 0.102 m.daN (10.97 and 9.03 lbf.in )
. (o) Put each cable in the clamp (22) with the screws (21).
(p) TORQUE the screws (21) to between 0.067 and 0.034 m.daN (5.93 and 3.01 lbf.in )
. (q) Put the cable for the sensors 16QJ1(16QJ2), 29QJ1(29QJ2) and 38QJ1(38QJ2) in position.
(r) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(s) Install the nylon spacers (5) between the applicable harnesses with the cable-ties (1).
NOTE: Make sure that there is not less than 6mm (0.24in.) between the cables of the sensors 29QJ1(29QJ2) and 38QJ1(38QJ2), and the fuel probe 24QT1(24QT2).
(t) Remove the bolt (4) and the P clip (3). (u) Make a coil of the unwanted cable and use the P clip (3) and the bolt (4) to attach it to the structure.
(3) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) at RIB 1 as follows:
(a) Identify the cable for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2) and put it through the RIB2 in the position shown.
(b) Get access through the opening 540AB(640AB) and the door 540AZ(640AZ) to the RIB1.
(c) Carefully pull the cable for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2) until it reaches the fuel probe.
(d) Remove the tape and the string from the harness 13QT1(13QT2).
(e) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2).
(f) Use a crimping tool to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(g) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminals of the terminal block of the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2).
(h) Put the cable for the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2) in position.
(i) Attach the harness 13QT1(13QT2) to the fuel probe 21QT1(21QT2) body and the structure with the cable-ties (1).
(j) Get access through the opening 540BB(640BB) to RIB6 and through the openings in RIB4 and RIB5.
(k) Carefully pull the string for the cable for the fuel probe 27QT1(27QT2) until it comes into view at the end of the conduit.
(l) Remove and discard the tape and the string from the harness.
(4) Install the harness 13QT1 (13QT2) at RIB 6 as follows:
