WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
Subtask 28-42-43-860-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank. (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the applicable fuel tank is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Make sure that the remaining fuel has been drained from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(3) Make sure that the access platform is below the applicable zone 540 (640). Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002):

MAKE SURE THAT ALL CABLES IN FUEL TANKS ARE CORRECTLY SUPPORTED (BY CLIPS AND OTHER SUPPORTS).
IF CLIPS OR SUPPORTS ARE MISSING OR DAMAGED, YOU MUST REPLACE THEM.
WARNING:
DO NOT REPAIR CABLES THAT ARE IN FUEL TANKS. DO NOT MAKE IN-LINE SPLICES. IF A CABLE IS DEFECTIVE, YOU MUST REPLACE THE FULL CABLE ASSEMBLY.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE INSTALLATION AND ROUTING OF ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES AGREE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ELECTRICAL STANDARD PRACTICES MANUAL.
Subtask 28-42-43-420-097-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Get access through the opening 540KB(640KB) to RIB15.
(5) Identify and attach the ends of the applicable string to the cables for the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2).
(6) Put TAPE - SELF-AMALGAMATING around the end of the harness 16QT1(16QT2). This will help to let it move more easily through the conduit.
Subtask 28-42-43-420-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .

B. Installation of the Wing-Tank Outer-Cell Group B Harness 16QT1 (16QT2)
(1) Get access through the opening 540LB(640LB) to RIB17 and find the string at the inboard end of the conduit.
(2) Use the string to carefully pull the harness 16QT1(16QT2) through the inboard part of the conduit, until the cables come into view.
(3) Get access through the opening 540QB(640QB) to RIB21 and find the string at the outboard part of the conduit.
(5) Remove and discard the string and the tape from the harness.
(6) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2).
Electrical Harness 16QT1(16QT2) at RIB 21 Inboard and Outboard - Location and Detail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(7) Use a CRIMPING TOOL 46447 to crimp the correct color terminal connectors (2) to the color identified wires ESPM 2048140.
(8) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminal block of the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2).
(9) Put the cables for the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2) in position.
Electrical Harness 16QT1(16QT2) at RIB 21 Inboard and Outboard - Location and Detail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
(10) Attach the harness 16QT1(16QT2) to the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2) body and the structure with the AIPC 28-42-05-20-010 CABLE-TIES (1) or AIPC 28-42-85-21-010 CABLE-TIES (1).
Subtask 28-42-43-420-082-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Get access through the opening 540LB(640LB) to RIB17 and find the string at the inboard end of the conduit.
(2) Use the string to carefully pull the harness 16QT1(16QT2) through the inboard part of the conduit, until the cables come into view.
(3) Get access through the opening 540QB(640QB) to RIB21 and find the string at the outboard part of the conduit.
CAUTION:
DO NOT MAKE KINKS IN THE HARNESS WHEN YOU PULL IT ACROSS RIB17. THE CONDUIT DOES NOT PROTECT THIS PART OF THE HARNESS.
(4) Use the string to carefully pull the harness 16QT1(16QT2) through the outboard part of the conduit. (5) Remove and discard the string and the tape from the harness.
(6) Identify the cable ends for the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2).
Electrical Harness 16QT1(16QT2) at RIB 21 Inboard and Outboard - Location and Detail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (8) Connect the terminal connectors (2) to the terminal block of the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2).
(9) Put the cables for the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2) in position.
Electrical Harness 16QT1(16QT2) at RIB 21 Inboard and Outboard - Location and Detail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL C. Continue with the Installation Procedure
(1) Get access through the opening 540KB(640KB) to RIB15.
(2) Install the anti-rotation plate (41) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-43-400-007).
(3) Remove the blanking cap and connect the plug connector (33) to the connector 4046VC1(4046VC2) (34).
Subtask 28-42-43-865-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Get access through the opening 540KB(640KB) to RIB15.
(2) Install the anti-rotation plate (41) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-43-400-007).
(3) Remove the blanking cap and connect the plug connector (33) to the connector 4046VC1(4046VC2) (34).
D. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(2) Do a functional (BITE) test of the fuel-tank level-sensing system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-46-00-740-001).
