A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
   (1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
   (2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
   (2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) in position below the applicable zone 540 (640).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-002):
     (a) FOR [16QT1] (HARNESS-CHAN B, L WING TK OUTR)
remove 540KB 540LB 540MB 540QB

     (b) FOR [16QT2] (HARNESS-CHAN B, R WING TK OUTR)
remove 640KB 640LB 640MB 640QB.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-42-43-020-078-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Wing-Tank Outer-Cell Group B Harness 16QT1 (16QT2)
   (1) Get access through the opening 540KB(640KB) to RIB15.
   (2) Disconnect the plug connector (33) from the connector 4046VC1(4046VC2) (34).
   (3) Put a CAP - BLANKING on the connector (34).
   (4) Remove the anti-rotation plate (41) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-43-000-007).
   (5) Get access through the opening 540QB(640QB) to RIB21.
   (6) Remove and discard the cable-ties (1) from the harness 16QT1(16QT2).
   (7) Disconnect the terminal connectors (2) from the terminal block of the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2).
   (8) Remove and discard the terminal connectors (2) from the harness 16QT1(16QT2).
   (9) Remove and discard the cable-ties (1) from the harness 16QT1(16QT2) and the fuel probe 34QT1(34QT2) body.
   (10) Attach an applicable length of STRING - DRAW to the ends of the harness 16QT1(16QT2). This will help to install the new harness.
   (11) Put TAPE - 3M CONDUCTIVE ELEC(X-1181-COPPER OR X-1170-ALU) around the end of the harness 16QT1(16QT2). This will help to let it move more easily through the conduit.
   (12) Get access through the opening 540MB(640MB) to RIB17.
   (13) Carefully pull the harness 16QT1(16QT2) from the outboard part of the conduit, until the ends attached to the string come into view.
   (14) Get access through the opening 540KB(640KB) to RIB15.
   (15) Carefully pull the harness 16QT1(16QT2) from the inboard part of the conduit, until the ends attached to the string come into view.
   (16) Identify and mark the string. This will help to install the new harness.
   (17) Remove and discard the tape and remove the harness from the string.
   (18) Remove the harness from the aircraft.
   (19) Leave the string in position for the installation.
