Subtask 28-42-24-860-056-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3) Make sure that the applicable Additional Center Tank (ACT) is defueled (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(4) Make sure that the remaining fuel is drained from the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
(5) In the cockpit, on FUEL control panel 40VU, make sure that the MODE SEL pushbutton switch is in the OFF position.
(6) On refuel/defuel panel, make sure that the REFUEL/DEFUEL/XFR mode-select toggle-switch is in the NORM position.
(7) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are on the panels that follow, to tell persons not to operate the fuel system:
Subtask 28-42-24-865-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized.

(a) Make sure that the sufficient carpet from the passenger compartment floor is removed to get access to cabin floor panels 251TG, 251BG, 251CG and 251DG (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the cabin floor panels are removed 251TG, 251BG, 251CG and 251DG (Ref. AMM TASK 53-00-00-000-801).
(c) Make sure that the cargo-compartment ceiling panel 151AY is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-002).
(3) FOR [70QT] (PROBE-FQI NO 2, ACT1)
(a) Make sure that the sufficient carpet from the passenger compartment floor is removed to get access to cabin floor panels 252DG, 252CG, 252BG and 251TG (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-000-001).

(2) FOR [69QT] (PROBE-FQI NO 1, ACT1)
(a) Make sure that the sufficient carpet from the passenger compartment floor is removed to get access to cabin floor panels 251TG, 251BG, 251CG and 251DG (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the cabin floor panels are removed 251TG, 251BG, 251CG and 251DG (Ref. AMM TASK 53-00-00-000-801).
(c) Make sure that the cargo-compartment ceiling panel 151AY is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-002).
(3) FOR [70QT] (PROBE-FQI NO 2, ACT1)
(a) Make sure that the sufficient carpet from the passenger compartment floor is removed to get access to cabin floor panels 252DG, 252CG, 252BG and 251TG (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the cabin floor panels are removed 252DG, 252CG, 252BG and 251TG (Ref. AMM TASK 53-00-00-000-801).

(4) FOR [71QT] (PROBE-FQI NO.1, ACT 2)
(a) Make sure that the sufficient carpet from the passenger compartment floor is removed to get access to cabin floor panels 251AF, 251BF, 251CF, 251DF and 251EG (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the cabin floor panels are removed 251AF, 251BF, 251CF, 251DF and 251EG (Ref. AMM TASK 53-00-00-000-801).
(c) Make sure that the cargo-compartment ceiling panel 151AC is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-002).
(5) FOR [72QT] (PROBE-FQI NO.2, ACT 2)
(a) Make sure that the sufficient carpet from the passenger compartment floor is removed to get access to cabin floor panels 252EG, 252EF, 252CF, 252BF and 251AF (Ref. AMM TASK 25-28-41-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the cabin floor panels are removed 252EG, 252EF, 252CF, 252BF and 251AF (Ref. AMM TASK 53-00-00-000-801).
(c) Make sure that the cargo-compartment ceiling panel 151AC is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-55-11-000-002).
Subtask 28-42-24-420-052-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fuel Quantity Indicator (FQI) Probe
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 28-42-84-01-060 O-RING (6) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-170 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-42-84-01-050 O-RING (7) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-160 O-RING (7).
(5) Install the new O-rings (6) and (7) on the FQI probe (9).
(6) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(7) Put the FQI probe (9) in its installation position in the funnel (10) of the ACT base plate (11):
(a) The FQI probe is very sensitive equipment, you must install it carefully to prevent damage.
(8) Prepare equipment for electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(9) Install the bonding strap (5), washer (4), new AIPC 28-42-84-01-030 SEALING RINGS (12) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-140 SEALING RINGS (12) and bolts (3) to the flange (8) of the FQI probe (9).
(10) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 0.44 and 0.36 m.daN (38.94 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(11) Do the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(12) Connect the electrical connections:
(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 28-42-24-865-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) to the new AIPC 28-42-84-01-060 O-RING (6) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-170 O-RING (6) and AIPC 28-42-84-01-050 O-RING (7) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-160 O-RING (7).
(5) Install the new O-rings (6) and (7) on the FQI probe (9).
(6) Remove the PLUG-BLANKING from each disconnected line end.
(7) Put the FQI probe (9) in its installation position in the funnel (10) of the ACT base plate (11):
(a) The FQI probe is very sensitive equipment, you must install it carefully to prevent damage.
(8) Prepare equipment for electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(9) Install the bonding strap (5), washer (4), new AIPC 28-42-84-01-030 SEALING RINGS (12) or AIPC 28-11-27-20-140 SEALING RINGS (12) and bolts (3) to the flange (8) of the FQI probe (9).
(10) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 0.44 and 0.36 m.daN (38.94 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (11) Do the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(12) Connect the electrical connections:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE BONDING STRAP(S) IS(ARE) CONNECTED BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR(S).
(a) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.(b) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU CONNECT THEM. SOLID AND/OR LIQUID CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE COMPONENTS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT TWIST OR BEND THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS WHEN YOU DISCONNECT/CONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. IF YOU DO, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS AND THUS CAUSE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT DEFECTS.
(c) Connect the electrical connector (1) to the receptacle (2). B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test(s)
(1) Do a fuel transfer from the wing/center tank to the ACT, until high fuel level in the applicable ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001).
(2) Do the operational test of the ACT automatic transfer-system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-710-005).
(3) Do a leak test on the fuel quantity probes:
(a) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(b) Make sure that there are no leaks.
(4) Do the operational test of the fuel quantity indicating-system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-00-710-001).
