A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the opening of the aft cargo-compartment door.
(5) Make sure that the ACT is completely drained (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(6) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position on:
(8) Make sure that the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the aft cargo-compartment ceiling panel are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
Subtask 28-42-24-860-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Make sure that the aft cargo-compartment door is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the opening of the aft cargo-compartment door.
(5) Make sure that the ACT is completely drained (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(6) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position on:
- the refuel/defuel panel 801VU,
- the fuel panel 40VU,
to tell persons not to operate the defuel/refuel system.
(8) Make sure that the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the aft cargo-compartment ceiling panel are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).

(6) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position on:
(a) Make sure that the access panels 251MG and 252MG in the floor panels 251BG and 252BG are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the aft cargo-compartment ceiling panel are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
(8) For the ACT 2 (AFT):
(a) Make sure that the access panels 251NG and 252NG in the floor panels 251BF and 252BF are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
(b) Make sure that the access panels 151QC and 151PC in the aft cargo-compartment ceiling panel are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).

A. Install the Fuel Quantity Indicator Probe
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to the new O-rings (11) and (12).
(5) Install the new AIPC 28-42-04-01-060 O-RING (11) in the furrow on the flange of the fuel duct (9).
(6) Install the new AIPC 28-42-04-01-050 O-RING (12) on the fuel probe (8).
(7) Put the tube (5) of the fuel probe (8) into the duct (10).
(8) Move the fuel probe (8) down so that the base of the tube (5) goes into the funnel (6) on the base plate (7) of the ACT (1).
(9) Install the bonding strap (4) with the screw (17) and the washer (16) to the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(10) Prepare for electrical bonding:
(a) Do the applicable bonding procedure on the fuel probe (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(11) Install the screws (2) and the washers (3) in the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(12) Tighten the screws (2) opposite to another in turn.
(13) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (13) and the receptacle (15).
(14) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(15) Connect the electrical connector (13) to the receptacle (15).
Subtask 28-42-24-420-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

(5) Install the new AIPC 28-42-04-01-060 O-RING (11) in the furrow on the flange of the fuel duct (9).
(6) Install the new AIPC 28-42-04-01-050 O-RING (12) on the fuel probe (8).
(7) Put the tube (5) of the fuel probe (8) into the duct (10).
(8) Move the fuel probe (8) down so that the base of the tube (5) goes into the funnel (6) on the base plate (7) of the ACT (1).
(9) Install the bonding strap (4) with the screw (17) and the washer (16) to the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(10) Prepare for electrical bonding:
(a) Do the applicable bonding procedure on the fuel probe (8) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(11) Install the screws (2) and the washers (3) in the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(12) Tighten the screws (2) opposite to another in turn.
(13) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (13) and the receptacle (15).
(14) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(15) Connect the electrical connector (13) to the receptacle (15).
A. Install the Fuel Quantity Indicator Probe with Two ACT Installed
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to the new O-rings (11) and (12).
(5) Install the new AIPC 28-42-04-01-060 O-RING (11) in the furrow on the flange of the fuel duct (9).
(6) Install the new AIPC 28-42-04-01-050 O-RING (12) on the fuel probe (8).
(7) Put the tube (5) of the fuel probe (8) into the duct (10).
(8) Move the fuel probe (8) down so that the base of the tube (5) goes into the funnel (6) on the base plate (7) of the ACT (1).
(9) Install the bonding strap (4) with the screw (17) and the washer (16) to the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(10) Prepare for electrical bonding:
(a) Do the applicable bonding procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(11) Install the screws (2) and the washers (3) in the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(12) Tighten the screws (2) opposite to another in turn.
(13) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (13) and the receptacle (15).
(14) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(15) Connect the electrical connector (13) to the receptacle (15).
Subtask 28-42-24-865-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: The subsequent procedure is the same for each ACT. Therefore only one ACT is given. Differences between each ACT are given where applicable.
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001). (2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply a thin layer of Turbine Fuel-- Kerosene - (Material No.01ABA1) to the new O-rings (11) and (12).
(5) Install the new AIPC 28-42-04-01-060 O-RING (11) in the furrow on the flange of the fuel duct (9).
(6) Install the new AIPC 28-42-04-01-050 O-RING (12) on the fuel probe (8).
(7) Put the tube (5) of the fuel probe (8) into the duct (10).
(8) Move the fuel probe (8) down so that the base of the tube (5) goes into the funnel (6) on the base plate (7) of the ACT (1).
(9) Install the bonding strap (4) with the screw (17) and the washer (16) to the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(10) Prepare for electrical bonding:
(a) Do the applicable bonding procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(11) Install the screws (2) and the washers (3) in the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(12) Tighten the screws (2) opposite to another in turn.
(13) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connector (13) and the receptacle (15).
(14) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(15) Connect the electrical connector (13) to the receptacle (15).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Test
(1) Refuel the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003).
(2) Do the Operational Test of the ACT Automatic Transfer System (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-710-004).
(3) Do a leak check on the Fuel Quantity Probes of the ACT.
(a) Leaks are not permitted.
(4) Do the Operational Test of the Fuel Quantity Indicating-System (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-00-710-001).
5. Close-up(1) Refuel the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003).
(2) Do the Operational Test of the ACT Automatic Transfer System (Ref. AMM TASK 28-28-00-710-004).
(3) Do a leak check on the Fuel Quantity Probes of the ACT.
(a) Leaks are not permitted.
(4) Do the Operational Test of the Fuel Quantity Indicating-System (Ref. AMM TASK 28-42-00-710-001).
Subtask 28-42-24-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
(3) Install the access panels 251MG and 252MG in the floor panel 251BG and 252 BG of the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-400-001).
Subtask 28-42-24-410-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
(3) Install the access panels 251MG and 252MG in the floor panel 251BG and 252 BG of the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-400-001).
A. Close Access with Two Additional Center Tanks (ACT)
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) For the ACT 1 (FWD):
(a) Install the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
(b) Install the access panels 251MG and 252MG in the floor panel 251BG and 252BG of the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-400-001).
(3) For the ACT 2 (FWD):
(a) Install the access panels 151QC and 151PC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
(b) Install the access panels 251NG and 252NG in the floor panel 251BF and 252BF of the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-400-001).
Subtask 28-42-24-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) For the ACT 1 (FWD):
(a) Install the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
(b) Install the access panels 251MG and 252MG in the floor panel 251BG and 252BG of the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-400-001).
(3) For the ACT 2 (FWD):
(a) Install the access panels 151QC and 151PC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
(b) Install the access panels 251NG and 252NG in the floor panel 251BF and 252BF of the passenger compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-400-001).
B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Remove the access platform(s).
(2) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(3) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Remove the access platform(s).
(2) Close the AFT cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(3) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
