Subtask 28-42-24-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Open the aft cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the opening of the AFT cargo compartment door.
(5) Transfer the fuel from the Additional Center Tank (ACT) to the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(6) Drain the remaining fuel of the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(7) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on:
- the refuel/defuel panel 801VU,
- the fuel panel 40VU,
to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system.
Subtask 28-42-24-865-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
(2) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(3) Open the aft cargo compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at the opening of the AFT cargo compartment door.
(5) Transfer the fuel from the Additional Center Tank (ACT) to the center tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(6) Drain the remaining fuel of the ACT (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
(7) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on:
- the refuel/defuel panel 801VU,
- the fuel panel 40VU,
to tell persons not to operate the refuel/defuel system.

C. Get Access
(1) Remove the access panel 251MG and 252MG in the floor panels 252BG and 251BG in the passenger compartment to get access to the fuel probes (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
(2) Remove the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the ceiling of t he AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
Subtask 28-42-24-010-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the access panel 251MG and 252MG in the floor panels 252BG and 251BG in the passenger compartment to get access to the fuel probes (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
(2) Remove the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the ceiling of t he AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
C. Get Access with Two Additional Center Tanks (ACT) Installed
(1) For the ACT 1 (FWD):
(a) In the passenger compartment, remove the carpet over the floor panels 252BG and 251BG.
(b) Remove the access panels 251MG and 252MG in the floor panels 251BG and 252BG in the passenger compartment to get access to the fuel probes (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
(c) Remove the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
(2) For the ACT 2 (AFT):
(a) In the passenger compartment, remove the carpet over the floor panels 251BF and 252BF.
(b) Remove the access panels 251NG and 252NG in the floor panels 251BF and 252BF in the passenger compartment to get access to the fuel probes (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
(c) Remove the access panels 151QC and 151PC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) For the ACT 1 (FWD):
(a) In the passenger compartment, remove the carpet over the floor panels 252BG and 251BG.
(b) Remove the access panels 251MG and 252MG in the floor panels 251BG and 252BG in the passenger compartment to get access to the fuel probes (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
(c) Remove the access panels 151LC and 151MC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
(2) For the ACT 2 (AFT):
(a) In the passenger compartment, remove the carpet over the floor panels 251BF and 252BF.
(b) Remove the access panels 251NG and 252NG in the floor panels 251BF and 252BF in the passenger compartment to get access to the fuel probes (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-12-000-001).
(c) Remove the access panels 151QC and 151PC in the ceiling of the AFT cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
Subtask 28-42-24-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Fuel Quantity Indicator Probe
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (13) from the receptacle (15).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the screw (17), the washer (16) and the bonding strap (4) from the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(4) Remove the screws (2) and the washers (3) from the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(5) Carefully pull the fuel probe (8) out of the duct (10) of the ACT (1) and up through the passenger compartment floor.
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring (12) of the fuel probe (8).
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (11) from the flange (9) of the duct (10).
Subtask 28-42-24-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Disconnect the electrical connector (13) from the receptacle (15).
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the screw (17), the washer (16) and the bonding strap (4) from the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(4) Remove the screws (2) and the washers (3) from the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(5) Carefully pull the fuel probe (8) out of the duct (10) of the ACT (1) and up through the passenger compartment floor.
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring (12) of the fuel probe (8).
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (11) from the flange (9) of the duct (10).
A. Removal of the Fuel Quantity Indicator Probe with Two ACT Installed
(2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the screw (17), the washer (16) and the bonding strap (4) from the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(4) Remove the screws (2) and the washers (3) from the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(5) Carefully pull the fuel probe (8) out of the duct (10) of the ACT (1) and up through the passenger compartment floor.
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring (12) of the fuel probe (8).
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (11) from the flange (9) of the duct (10).
NOTE: The subsequent procedure is the same for each ACT. Therefore only one ACT is given. Differences between each ACT are given where applicable.
(1) Disconnect the electrical connector (13) from the receptacle (15). (2) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(3) Remove the screw (17), the washer (16) and the bonding strap (4) from the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(4) Remove the screws (2) and the washers (3) from the flange (14) of the fuel probe (8).
(5) Carefully pull the fuel probe (8) out of the duct (10) of the ACT (1) and up through the passenger compartment floor.
(6) Remove and discard the O-ring (12) of the fuel probe (8).
(7) Remove and discard the O-ring (11) from the flange (9) of the duct (10).
