A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the MLG doors.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

D. Get Access

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE CLEAR.

(1) Open the applicable MLG door(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuator(s).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel 147AZ (148AZ).
(4) Remove the applicable access panel 147AZ (148AZ) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).

D. Get Access

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE LANDING GEAR DOORS ARE CLEAR.

(1) Open the applicable MLG door(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(2) Make sure that the 460005835 SLEEVE - GROUND LOCK is installed on the applicable MLG door actuator(s).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable access panel 148AZ and/or the ACT Equipment Support Door.
(4) Remove the applicable access panel 148AZ and/or the ACT Equipment Support Door (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-42-15-020-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Center (Transfer) Tank Fuel-Quantity Probe

Center (Transfer) Tank Probes - Location and Detail ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

CAUTION: MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Remove and discard the cable ties (1) to release the electrical cable (8) from the probe (10).
(2) Loosen the terminal screw (7) on the terminal block (2).
(3) Loosen the screws (3), (4) and (5) on the terminal block (2).
(4) Identify and remove the electrical connectors of the cable (8).
(5) Put CAP - BLANKING on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(6) Remove the bolts (9) and (12).
(7) Remove the probe (10).
(8) Remove the bracket (11) from the probe (10).
